It got down to 29 Wed. morning, rose to a record-low high temperature of 47, and is supposed to get down to 25 tonight. While certainly not cold for any of the northern folk, for us this is downright frigid! Places in north FL and the panhandle are supposed to get down into the low/mid teens! This is especially not good for the strawberry farmers (damaged with 3+ hrs below 32) and less so to the orange growers(damaged with 4+ hrs below 28):

The Florida citrus groves will have a freeze late Wednesday night and early Thursday with lows between 25 and 32 degrees F. The estimated damage to the citrus crop is from zero to two percent.

In the coldest groves, the temperature will drop to or below the critical mark (28 degrees) for as much as three to four hours. Winds will be light and variable most of the night, allowing for rapid radiational cooling. On the other hand, the lack of wind will allow the equipment that protects against a freeze to function quite effectively.

Specifically, temperatures will drop to:
Lakeland - 25 degrees F
Winter Haven - 26 degrees F
Orlando - 25 degrees F
Tampa - 29 degrees F
Immokalee - 27 degrees F
Okeechobee - 28 degrees F

Thursday, temperatures will rise quickly after sunrise, and highs across the citrus groves will be in the 50s.

I'm not in Denver but the weather has been wonderful. We knew it couldn't last.

The skiing has been amazing! Well, not at Winter Park for the downhill people but for the XC crowd it's been great!

Well, according to the weatherman there's a high in the Gulf and thus blowing winds down the peninsula (from AL/GA). Since the cold fronts have passed leaving those areas cold, the winds have just been pushing that cold air down the peninsula. On the other hand, the winds will blow up from the gulf in LA...keeping yall a bit warmer. As of 11pm, it's 35 outside here.

Currently, it's 8 warmer in Billings, MT (38) than me in Bartow, FL (30) right now! Or in another perspective, only 9 warmer than International Falls!!!!
