Australia has overtaken the US as the world's most obese nation, according to a study published in Melbourne yesterday.

The Baker Heart Institute's study, entitled Australia's Future Fat Bomb, found that 26 per cent of adult Australians, or close to 4m people, were obese.

The figure is higher than the US, which has a 25 per cent obesity rate.

"That, unfortunately, makes us the heavyweight champions, a title we don't really want," said Simon Stewart, head of preventative cardiology at the institute.

"As we send our athletes off to the Olympics let's reflect on the fact that we would win the gold medal now in the world fat Olympics, if there was such a thing."

The glaring problem with these claims is that their government’s own health statistics have been reporting that Australians are living longer and are healthier than ever, despite the numbers classified as “obese” and “overweight.”

People that are actually obese live longer on dialysis, are more likely to survive a heart attack, and do better with several other health problems.

Of course, Tom Cruise is considered obese on the BMI scale...

You're just new. Goldwater is among the most unreliable Day Thread creators on this board. It's tragic. It's not that he drops it just because a little kid might be nuked - it could be for any lame reason. :p
