Several people died and as many as 15 suffered injuries today in a tour bus accident on U.S. 93 near the Hoover Dam.

The Department of Public Safety has closed 93 near the Hoover Dam because of the fatal accident.

At about 4:04 p.m., the DPS officers responded to a tour bus collision southbound on 93 at milepost 27.

"DPS Highway Patrol officers are on scene. We have several medical helicopters on scene and en route as well," a press release from DPS stated.

The bus is on its side and the roadway is closed in both directions.

No telling of how many died, doesn't sound good.

dam tour bus
seriously I seem to hear about the tour buses around here getting into bad accidents frequently, usually in the mountains. Unexperienced drivers? Distracted? Tired? This is not a state where you can drive at less than a hundred percent awareness!
