I watched a show on the history channel yesterday that went through all the Presidents showing their bad and good points. Well to make a long story short when they got to Carter it was such a ass kissing fest I almost puked. They sorta of knocked him on the Iran hostages. They claimed Iran released the hostages when Reagan was sworn in just to insult Carter. (IMHO they knew Reagan would come after them)

Well when they got to Reagan and the first and only thing the said about his time before he became president was that he was a actor (didnt mention his two terms as a Governor)and David rodham Gergan (sp)? said he was not to bright :mad: and to top it all they said he was just lucky to be around when the USSR fell.

Man they are not even trying to mask their liberal views.

If you saw this you would shit your pants. They made Carter out to be the better president lol.

All Reagan did was speak well and was good natured. :mad:

So, Reagan is at least as good as Obama? :D
I have a buddy who swears that Carter's human rights policies helped end the Cold War. I think that he has a point, in that Carter's policies would have resulted in a shorter Cold War, but only because we'd have lost. Carter lost Iran (because he refused to allow the Shah to suppress Khomeini), gutted the military, created two new gargantuan federal bureaucracies (Dept. of Education and Dept. of Energy) that accomplish nothing, showed such incredible spinelessness that the Soviets expanded their empire into Afghanistan, Angola, Mozambique and Nicuaragua, with the intent of further expansion throughout Central America and lost a one-on-one grudge match with a rabbit. Even SNL lampooned him after he left office.
