Police are close to arresting an inmate they've already interviewed in the eight-year-old murder case of Chandra Levy and charging him in her disappearance, FOX News has confirmed.

Law enforcement officials said an arrest warrant will be issued for Ingmar Guandique, who is currently in prison in California.

Officials said Guandique will be served papers there and likely then flown to Washington, D.C., to hear the charges against him.

D.C. authorities submitted evidence to the U.S. Attorney's office to obtain the arrest warrant.

Guandique is reportedly in jail for assaulting two women in Rock Creek Park, the same park where Levy's remains were found a year after she vanished, according to WRC-TV in Washington.

According to the NY Post, he's a Salvadoran immigrant. I'd bet that he's illegal. Any takers?

The unfortunate brutal murder of Ms. Levy has served two important purposes. It did get rid of the slimeball representative Condit and it reinforces the need for some strict border control to keep these "guest workers" out of the country.

At least her family now knows what happened and who did it.

Condit is still a sleazeball for messing around with her.

There've been hundreds, if not thousands, of murders by illegals. The media avoids reporting their immigration status, so the public response is muted. This doesn't highlight the issue so much as add to the tons of evidence in favor of immigratioin controls, but since our elites are indifferent to the prior evidence, there's no up side to this.

This is true. My question is, if the murderer turns out to have been an illegal alien, can we get congress to at least allow police to arrest felons who they know are illegals and who have been deported previously?
