Obama hints at talks with Taleban

President Obama has suggested there could be talks with moderate elements of the Taleban in Afghanistan as part of a process of reconciliation.
Mr Obama told the New York Times that US forces in Iraq had persuaded some Islamic radicals alienated by the tactics of al-Qaeda to co-operate.
He said there might be similar opportunities in Afghanistan, although the situation there was more complex.
Asked if the US was winning in Afghanistan, Mr Obama replied: "No."
A month into his presidency, Mr Obama authorised the deployment of up to 17,000 extra US troops to Afghanistan.

At 1st glance it may seem so but to me...this just reeks of a weak POTUS that doesn't have a clue.

As you say, we'll just have to see.

It doesn't really; I just thought he'd take his time about shredding the economy and surrendering to terrorists. Once he turns our sovereignty over to the UN he gets the hat trick.

Someone needs to explain to him that there are no 'moderate' taliban.
If they were 'moderate' then they wouldn't be taliban at all.

Where does this ass clown get off thinking he can negotiate with people who just don't like us? Our culture, our foreign policy, our religion. He would have better results running headfirst into a brick wall.
