London police fear violent protests at G-20 economic meeting

LONDON (http://www.iht.com/articles/2009/03/19/europe/protest.php#): The British police are preparing to deal with violent protests as anarchists threaten to bring chaos to the Group of 20 summit meeting in London.

All leave for police officers in the capital has been called off and businesses are being advised to cancel unnecessary meetings because protesters have vowed to target the financial district as the world leaders gather to discuss the financial crisis.

Previous world economic summit meetings and conferences have been targeted by anarchists, anti-globalization protesters and other groups. The police say they fear that the gathering April 2 in London, set against anger at the economic downturn, could provoke more violence.

I REALLY hate anarchist protestors. Bunch of aggressive, pretentious, dope- addled trust fund brats who just want to spread vandalism, violence, and rioting wherever they go, though they're usually so cowardly that they try to hide their true intentions by instead using euphemistic terms like "Direct Action" and "Diversity of Tactics," to prevent the police from nailing them in advance on incitement charges. Another interesting hypocrisy about them is that they view themselves as brave, badass revolutionaries, yet they tend to be too chicken to reveal their identities (Usually for two reasons: a. So it'll be harder for the cops to identify and arrest them when they engage in violent acts, and b. To lessen the risk of their rich parents seeing them on TV and cutting off their trust funds), so they hide their faces behind those stupid bandanas.
Here's hoping the London police is prepared to keep those freaks in line.
