Jordan Eisenberg says he knows a thing or two about dealing with the volatile emotions of premenstrual syndrome. After all, he grew up around women.

A year ago, the 28-year-old entrepreneur and Denver resident decided to devise a way other men could do the same.

The outcome was PMSbuddy.com, a free Internet-based service that tracks the monthly cycles of a subscriber's significant other and offers e-mail reminders about the impending deadlines.

And it's catching on: The site surpassed 150,000 registered users last month. Ten percent are women.

Not to rest on his laurels, Eisenberg recently added a phone application — PMS Buddy iPhone — for 99 cents.

There were 1,000 downloads the first day.

I voted for the Joooos! It's not sexist but it is pointless. Men already know when their SOs are diving into PMS mode. They call it Poker Night or sometimes Deer Camp.

But it's not just the wife. It's the mother. The sister. The sister in law. The mother in law. The women at work . . . . It's a PMS MINEFIELD OUT THERE!!

I use Kahlua for just that purpose. When ever I sense the onset - I in my infinite and loving sensitivity - ply her with white Russians until she doesn't have the gumption to get all moody.

LOL! I don't have PMS. If I'm evil and cranky, it's just a personality quirk.

Seriously though, I think PMS is overplayed by women. Sometimes it's just an excuse to act....uncivil. You'd be surprised at how fast it clears up in some cases when the aggrieved (female) party tells them to knock it off.

Yes well - we as men cannot do that without being branded a misogynist.

As a part-time gig, I've got to say, it has it's compensations. :D

On an unrelated note: how's the back?

On an unrelated note: how's the back? I'm a light weight when it comes to perscription pain killers - so I haven't felt pain since I took that pill at about 11. I should get through tomorrow on it as well. :o

I know you mentioned that this has happened before. Is it just one of those fluky things or do you have mechanical issue?

I've had a couple of back spasms and they were worse (pain-wise) than most traumatic injuries I've had. When your back hurts, it all hurts even if you're perfectly still. :(

It's a muscle thing. I need to join a gym and strengthen some things up and shed a few pounds. Ultimately my problem is I have a joint problem where I dislocate things very easily - which generally ends up with very sore muscles. I over did myself a while ago doing something I knew better than to do - but did it anyway - for the fun of it - so it weakened things in my lower back - and now I'm stuck paying the price. It could be much worse - I could have dislocated a rib again!

Dude! I think you are clearly a natural for yoga!

My chiro told me to do the bridge exercise every morning. I couldn't do the real thing for quite a while but even a semi-effort helped me a lot. Now, I never seem to have those warning twinges. That pelvic lift thing also does a lot. Three minutes in the morning (when the collie isn't "helping") and I'm good to go. YMMV as they used to say. ;)

I used to sit in the lotus position all the time when I was a kid - did gymnastics too . . . Can't any more. I either end up dislocating a knee or a hip. No fun at ALL!

Hmmm....I dunno then. I'm not "naturally" flexible. I have to work at it. There's a thesis subject in here...or a porn career. :D

"Next month" being a code phrase for "tonight, if I feel so inclined and you people need good head knocking".

Right? :D

This topic was addressed humorously in an episode of "Murphy Brown". Candace Bergen comes into the office one day, raging even more than usual, and the guys in the office just look at each other and one says, "Oh, God, is it the 18th of the month already?" :p
