All I can say is gas going to $5 a gallon. It would look soooo lovely in the garage.

I don't think it'll fit in the garage dear. Better yet! I'll keep it out in the open where all the neighbors will drool over it as they pass by. :D I'm thinking Black for the exterior color. Very eeeeeevil looking.

That evil black would be very hot in the long August days. Besides, it would get tree sap on it outside the house. :p

You may love them, so better get one before they are gone.

GM has announced that the HUMMER line is near the end.

LMAO!! :D

SR, listen to your better half.

Your neighbors wil think you are a total tool for buying a dinosaur like an H3.

My neighbors already think I am one, for buying a 911...but at least it's quick, and at least it goes round curves well, and at least it looks the shizznit.

Take a test drive in the H3, by all means ... test drives are free, after all. I bet they won't let you take a long test drive in it though.

Just like they bury the gas mileage figures. You have to be a super snoop to find it. :D

Even though my "touring" car--translated station wagon---is a '99 BMW 528t, it would handle 25 times better on a curve than a Hummer. I like performance cars, hate things that can't even make a right turn properly.

I'm not a fan of boxy cars with no styling.

If you get one you absolutely HAVE to get the VRWC logo emblazoned on the doors!

By fiat it automatically becomes a reserve transport vehicle when the hammer drops.

Be sure to get the cage insert and the plastic liner for the cargo area to make transport and cleanup easier for yourself. :D

I'll have to take a nice long test drive and then see what the used prices are like!
I should be able to get a 1 or 2 year low mileage H3 for a song.:D

A greyhound would almost certainly out-accelerate an H3.

Probably sustain a higher top speed, too. :D

Even my little Tiny could have outrun a Hummer when she was 13 and with heart problems. Sadly, she's gone to that greyt greyhound resting place in the sky.

I think my son's Dodge Caravan van could probably outrun that Hummer. Well, not now, it's currently sitting in a grocery store parking lot, waiting for the tow truck. Seems the engine just happened to fail. The scummy car dealer had concealed that it had been in an accident before it was purchased (messed with the Car-fax report). but it was 2 years ago, so too late to go back on them.

I'm not a fan of Chrysler products.

I approve of the H3 Hummer. With the smaller engine, it should get around 15mpg. The way I drive my 350z that's about all I get. You should be able to get a new one dirt cheap because those suckers are not selling. Wait another 6 months (winter) and the price will go down even more. However, there is one catch to my approval of your purchase, and that is you have to buy SLW a new or certified BMW or Audi station wagon.
Go for it!

Thank you, Lacarnut, you are a true friend. :D I made sure to read this post to him out loud.
Wonder if that VW Passat wagon is any good? The new 5 series wagons are way too expensive. Guess I'll just get the old one tuned up again. It's got over 117k miles on it now.

I think the 328 series is much cheaper. I have seen new ones wagons on Ebay in the mid 30's range. You give up to quickly. Think new car for your anniversary.

I was tempted to look into buying a new 335 Sedan off of Ebay but the sticking point was the trade in. Besides, my 5 year old car runs perfectly and only has 40k miles.

There was a Hummer Club meetup this weekend where I was hiking. I gotta say, I could possibly get addicted to off-roading in something like that. This summer I'll be taking an off-roading trip in a Hummer in Moab. I can't wait!

CarNut, you know, as well as I do, that SR needs a 911, not an H3.

Performance is as performance does.

SR, be all you can be. H3s are for pussies, and you ain't one of them.

Get yourself a real car, while you still can. :D

I agree but 25K would only make a so so down payment on a 911. BTW, did you get a new one. I am itching to buy a new Vette. Dealers are knocking off 6 to 10 grand off sticker. GM has zero per cent financing on every vehicle but the Corvette. Maybe later this year they might.

SR, the zero per cent rate expires tomorrow on the Hummer.

And Hamp, the only Porsche I really liked was the 928.

I loved the body style of the 968 and the Alfa Romeo Spyder Veloce. Could not afford to buy one when they were still making them but I did a lot of window shopping. The Porsche Cayman S is a fine looking car.
