Long article, but interesting. And I do raise the question. Is Code Pink on the way out now that the dims no longer have a use for them.

Highlights from the article;

Is the mission now survival?

Like other peace groups whose support and interest have waned as the economy has taken center stage, Code Pink is trying to stay relevant by shifting its focus.

But as the group continues to foist its trademark antics on an ever-expanding policy theater, Democrats and Republicans say it’s losing whatever allies it had.

As things stand now, both sides of Washington’s political divide seem to be returning a familiar refrain to the ladies in pink: “Get out!”

“I do not know how you think you could advance any cause to which you might be attached by this kind of silliness,” Frank said.

In a telephone interview, Code Pink’s Benjamin tried to cast this liberal-on-liberal skirmish as a badge of honor for her group, proof that it’s not on the cuff of any political party. She noted that after this spat, she was invited onto a string of right-leaning talk radio programs around the country. Benjamin added that she was able to “make a lot of friends” among conservatives.

“Code Pink has never been more than a nuisance — an ineffective, self-indulgent, obnoxious and tone-deaf organization,” said Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas.

“It was never relevant before, and it certainly isn’t relevant today,” Moulitsas said. “I’m sure their antics make them feel good about themselves, make them feel as if they’re accomplishing something, but in reality they’ve done nothing but piss off everyone around them, including potential allies.”
