Along the lines of the Babies are Rapist thread, I thought that I would post a link to a speech given by Katherine Ragsdale on how Abortion is a Blessing. Who is Katherine Ragsdale you ask? She is the woman who as just been appointed Dean of the Episcopal Church's School of Divinity in New York. He is an ordained Episcopal Priest. Here is an except for the woman of God.

When a woman wants a child but canít afford one because she hasnít the education necessary for a sustainable job, or access to health care, or day care, or adequate food, it is the abysmal priorities of our nation, the lack of social supports, the absence of justice that are the tragedies; the abortion is a blessing.

And when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion Ė there is not a tragedy in sight -- only blessing. The ability to enjoy Godís good gift of sexuality without compromising oneís education, lifeís work, or ability to put to use Godís gifts and call is simply blessing.

These are the two things I want you, please, to remember Ė abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.

I want to thank all of you who protect this blessing Ė who do this work every day: the health care providers, doctors, nurses, technicians, receptionists, who put your lives on the line to care for others (you are heroes -- in my eyes, you are saints); the escorts and the activists; the lobbyists and the clinic defenders; all of you. Youíre engaged in holy work.

Read it all here (http://www.standfirminfaith.com/index.php/site/article/21537/)... if you can stomach not only the total lack of concern for the person that is being killed but also for portraying this as something God not only approves of but blesses.

For the record, she pulled this speech from her own site because she started taking a lot of heat. I would suggest to Ms Ragsdale that if she can stand the heat that her views generate perhaps she should make public comments only on subjects that are a bit less heated in nature.

I wonder how Ms Ragsdale came to be a priest without ever reading a Bible?

Its not a requirement in TEC (The Episcopal Church).

Obviously a "worship" group that feels they know better than God.

The Presiding Bishop (equal to an Archbishop) says the Holy Spirit is doing a new thing. This new thing includes practicing homosexuals as priests and bishops, same-sex marriages, abortion is a blessing and priests and bishops can be both Christians and Buddhists. I think that the working assumption is that God had it all wrong for the last 4,000 years and just realized it... oops, His bad.

Personally, I pretty sure a spirit is involved but I don't think he's all that holy. Perhaps the spirit that is talking to them is the spirit who is the ruler of the kingdom of the air.
