Imagine that you are the President-Elect of the United States and have to assemble a cabinet. Who is your dream team?

Why put the Department of Energy under the DoD? Seems much more like an Interior thing to me.

No to Phil Gramm.........he started the financial deregulation mess in 1998 by stressing that Glass Steagall was obsolete, that financial institutions should be able to underwrite and sell their own products.....Look where that got us.
Being a Texan, I loathe both Gramms, Phil and Wendy.
Ever wonder why Phil chose not to run for re-election as US Senator from Texas? It all had to do with Wendy being involved up to her nose in the Enron debacle as a Board of Director member. Phil would have been lynched.
No, the Gramms aren't welcome in Texas. That is why they chose to stay near D.C., rather than face the music back home.
Oh, care to guess what financial institution Phil works for now?

Good riddance!

Energy is a national security issue, not an economic issue. First, the money that we pay out goes to regimes that spend it on exporting ideologies that undermine us. Second, those regimes that export oil and gas tend to be unstable in their own right and destabilizing to the nations around them. Development of alternative energy sources therefore attacks those regimes, undermines their capacity to attack us and starves them of the resources that they need to maintain and expand their power.

T Boone Pickens is no conservative, T Boone is for T Boone and only T Boone. Some facts on T Boone.
T Boone has his own MUD district in the panhandle of Texas, This sole purpose of this MUD district is to has the power of eminent domain to use against his neighbors. Why?
T.Boone wants water rights. He wants to use eminent domain to seize land for a 56 inch pipeline from the Panhandle of Texas to the Dallas Metroplex. The reason? T. Boone plans to drill as many water wells in the Panhandle in order utilize the vast Ogalalla watershed for his own personal use. The neighboring states of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, as well as the States of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota, are seeking permanent injunctions against T. Boone for the pipeline and the proposed drilling.
Why?
Because sucking the Ogalalla dry would leave those states as dust bowls. They know you cannot strip mine a water resource as vast as those States mentioned and not have a dramatic impact on the entire nation.
T. Boone is for T. Boone
Let's not even talk about his wind energy plans.
Brown and Pickering would be excellent choices (until Supreme Court positions become available.)
