Bosaso Abdullahi Sa'id Samatar, a security minister of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland has held a press conference in the port town of Bosaso on Monday and reiterated Puntland's demands to get support from the world to fight with the Somali pirates.(Snip) Somali pirates hold more than 5 ships belonged by more different countries in the world like Germany, America, Greece and other European ships in the Somali coast.
Staff has split wide headline.

Mr. Abdullahi said that Puntland administration is against the pirates and requested from the international community to be supported how they would form powerful marines for Puntland to protect the pirates' attacks and hijackings against the international ships traveling on the Somali water and golf of Aden.

Good. While most people know of Somalia as a lawless, anarchistic land...it's important to know that Puntland and Somaliland have rather effective centralized governments. I know that Somaliland has been trying since 1991 to be recognized as an independent country. Maybe if we help these two regions with setting up/maintaining their governments and providing a coast guard, we get gain some ground on the pirates. And maybe eliminate some of the territory in which we have to hunt for the pirates' nests.
