I wasn't able to get to the Wichita one, but the reports are about 1000 folks showed up, Brownback was there and got out to Junction City and Topeka. The story didn't make the front page though.

Rallies across the country were directed at the new administration on a symbolic day: the deadline to file income taxes. Protesters even threw what appeared to be a box of tea bags toward the White House, causing a brief lockdown at the compound.

The tea parties were promoted by FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington and led by former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas.

Organizers said the movement developed through online social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and through exposure on Fox News.

Any money as to these lines being the part "contributed by the Associated Press"?

I lifted a nifty video off the site, but I'm not getting it embedded properly, so you'll have to follow the link.
