While guest hosting Wednesday’s "Morning Joe", former General Electric CEO Jack Welsh condemned global warming, the very theory MSNBC has been peddling for years. GE, of course, owns MSNBC; the rebuke of MSNBC’s favorite alarmist hypothesis came in a segment where hosts share noteworthy editorials. Welsh decided to share an opinion piece from Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal aptly titled "Global Warming As Mass Neurosis." Welsh informed the audience that the article has

It would be irresponsible to its stockholders for GE not to leverage its superior innovative capacity to bring to market products that customers want
to buy. If customers are willing to pay more for "natural" bicycle tires, brown because they leave out the black dye, then you can either be the one to sell it to them or go out of business trying to educate them.
(and yes, I own GE, but not nearly as much as I would like.)

Would an executive of a corporation that produces most of the world’s Heavy Duty Gas Turbines & Combined Cycle Electrical Generators really say anything else?

Regardless of what he manages as an executive, the entire Global Warming nuttiness is just nuts. Human activity does have a profound impact on ecology but temperature cycles are caused by solar events.

There are a zillion good reasons to reduce waste, manage energy better, and engage in pollution prevention but this isn't one of them. Good for him.
