Lawyers tag nominee as 'terror on the bench'

Lawyers who have argued cases before Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor call her "nasty," "angry" and a "terror on the bench," according to the current Almanac of the Federal Judiciary -- a kind of Zagat's guide to federal judges. The withering evaluation of Judge Sotomayor's temperament stands in stark contrast to reviews of her peers on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Of the 21 judges evaluated, the same lawyers gave 18 positive to glowing reviews and two judges received mixed reviews. Judge Sotomayor was the only one to receive decidedly negative comments. Judge Sotomayor's demeanor on the bench...

This is how judges are rated here in Arizona. And the names are not provided. So, does this mean the rating is invalid?

If she is a activist judge, then so is Scalia. Here is a quote from him...

This complete separation of the judiciary from the enterprise of "representative government" might have some truth in those countries where judges neither make law themselves nor set aside the laws enacted by the legislature. It is not a true picture of the American system. Not only do state-court judges possess the power to "make" common law, but they have the immense power to shape the States' constitutions as well. See, e.g., Baker v. State, 170 Vt. 194, 744 A. 2d 864 (1999). Which is precisely why the election of state judges became popula

She is an enemy of the state.

That was true up til the recent ruling by the SC.

The Constitution allowed the Militias to be armed, they became the national guard.

A country does not have to make an ammendment to their constitution to arm their army!

Defiant was talking about arming the citizens, not the army.

Pay attention slick, perhaps spend less time posting childish pictures and actually read the thread you are posting in.

The second amendment says ... "a well regulated militia"

The definition of 'militia' is...

1 a: a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency b: a body of citizens organized for military service
2: the whole body of able-bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service

She was right till the SC ruled it also included all citizens of the nation, even if they were not in a militia.

So basically, she'll fit right in.

She believes the second amendment only pertains to the military owning weapons.

She is an enemy of the state.

Technically, that would make her a friend of the state.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Our constitution begins, "We the People". The 2nd ends with " the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Can anyone point out in the Constitution where People is ever anything but all American citizens?

Her words are damning, but by themselves they can be brushed aside as a stupid comment that she didn't really mean. The Lefties are saying "look at the context", and I agree... let's look at her context, especially what groups she leads and decisions she has made. She is on the leadership council for La Raza (which literally means "the Race"), a Hispanic racial supremacy group active in the west and commonly referred to as "the Tan Klan." If you've never heard of La Raza, read on:

And as for her rulings, look at the case of the firemen who were denied promotion because they were white! She ruled that it was perfectly reasonable and justifiable to decide a test MUST be racist if it so happens that only the white (and 2 Hispanic) firemen were able to pass it. She didn't even consider that maybe the black firemen didn't study as hard, or maybe because they were Affirmative Action hires in the first place, they just weren't as qualified for promotions at that time.
