A majority of Israelis believe that the Middle East policies of US President Barack Obama are not good for the Jewish state, according to a Dahaf Institute poll taken ahead of Obama's speech to the Muslim world.

The poll of 501 Israelis, sponsored by Yediot Aharonot and representing a statistical sample of the population, found that 53 percent believed Obama's policies were not good for Israel and just 26% said they were good. The rest did not respond.

Fifty-one percent said Obama cared more about the Palestinian desire for a state than about Israeli security, and just 22% said he put Israel's security needs first.

Asked whether they were disappointed with Obama's policies, 51% said yes, 41% said no and the rest declined to answer. Half the respondents said they blamed both Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for the perceived crisis between Israel and the US, 28% solely blamed Obama and 16% just Netanyahu.

Obama is not the president of Israel. Should he really be putting Israel's security needs first?

Israel can't keep doing things the way they have been, plain and simple. They're becoming the bullies, not the bullied.

Giving the muzzies Gaza and having them use it as a base for endless missile attacks is being a "bully"?

Quaranting the entire population and starving them of necessary basic supplies based on the actions of the few is, yes.

Or are we going to argue whether the entire palestinian population is guilty of the crimes of Hamas/Hezbollah?

There is no such thing as a "Palestinian". The people who live there have a homeland, it is either Syria, Egypt or Jordan.

The same thing could be said about an Israeli pre 1948; the fact is that both sides have an equal claim to living there. You're going to point out that since then several generations of Israelis have been born there - in the time the current conflict has been going on (and it's been an ongoing conflict since 1948, I realize that) several generations of people who define themselves as Palestinian have been born in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, or Israel's proper.

Incidentally, the same thing could be applied to African slaves brought to the Americas in the late 17th and early 18th centuries - in that there is no hereditary "African-American" people...that mean we have to deport all people of color in the States? How about all the Irishmen? Perhaps the Poles? What about those silly Asians? We won't even discuss the Hispanics :X
