Newsweek Editor Evan Thomas: Obama ‘a sort of god’

by John Romano

In a first-ever for me, I’m hitting you all with a “you have to see it to believe it.”

“In a way Obama is standing above the country, above the world. He’s sort of GOD. He’s going to bring all different sides together.”

- Newsweek editor Evan Thomas

How on earth can Newsweek still call itself a hard news magazine? It is really just Obama news and worship with a few interesting political cartoons thrown in?

I’d write some analysis on this one, but Mr. Thomas does a fine job all by himself.

These are the End Days.

Don't blame the poor atheist for doing what silly newscasters who have no clue what they're spouting off about normally do - superexaggerating to the point where anyone with a modicum of understanding just has to change the channel.

This almost made me throw up.

Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over President Obama’s Cairo speech to a whole new level on Friday, declaring on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."

Thomas, appearing on Hardball with Chris Matthews, was reacting to a preceding monologue in which Matthews praised Obama’s speech: "I think the President's speech yesterday was the reason we Americans elected him. It was grand. It was positive. Hopeful...But what I liked about the President's speech in Cairo was that it showed a complete humility...The question now is whether the President we elected and spoke for us so grandly yesterday can carry out the great vision he gave us and to the world."

Matthews discussed Obama’s upcoming speech marking the 65th anniversary of D-Day and compared it to that of Ronald Reagan. He then turned to Thomas and asked: "Reagan and World War II and the sense of us as the good guys in the world, how are we doing?" Thomas replied: "Well, we were the good guys in 1984, it felt that way. It hasn't felt that way in recent years. So Obama’s had, really, a different task We're seen too often as the bad guys. And he – he has a very different job from – Reagan was all about America, and you talked about it. Obama is ‘we are above that now.’ We're not just parochial, we're not just chauvinistic, we're not just provincial."

Obama's sculpted face heads to Mt. Rushmore park
12-ton statue already touring country en route to South Dakota attraction

Barack Obama bust on tour through St. Louis

Mount Rushmore National Memorial's famous stone carvings of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt are about to receive a sculpted visitor: a massive bust of Barack Obama.

According to Black Hills Today, the statue is made of steel and concrete, tops 20 feet tall and weighs roughly 12 tons.

Crafted by artist David Adickes of Houston, Texas, the Obama bust left Adickes' sculpture center earlier this month, shipped in two pieces on the back of a truck, making its way along a 10-state, 40-city tour.

On Wednesday, the bust is scheduled to be put on display at Mount Rushmore.

Those that might question whether Obama belongs in the company of Washington and Jefferson, however, need not worry: the sculpture won't be staying.

I'm sure it will be on display at the bottom of the hill.

I hardly think they'll airlift 12 tons and hold it in position just to see how it looks.

The only place where Obama is standing above the world is in the blinded eyes of his worshipers like 99% of our blissfully ignorant media. Approval numbers are starting to slip, some more of the people are starting to see that the emperor has no clothes, and even the Big O himself doesn't seem to have as much of that cocky swagger that he did before he actually started the job. The big ugly stick called reality has been applied with great force to the side of his big head. Too bad he's in there for four years before we can apply the realization.

It all started with Caligula turning insane and wanting to be pronounced as god .
History repeats it self !
.................................................. ......
However, the problems between the Jews and the Romans erupted again with the death of Augustus in the 14 AD and Tiberius taking over as the Emperor. During his reign, there was immense prejudice towards the Jews resulting in him expelling them from Rome. After a few decades, they were again expelled by Claudius. This led to strained relationship between the two groups. This aggravated with the appointment of Pontius Pilate, the Procurator of Judea. Much to the disgruntled Jews, Pilate went around violating Jewish customs.
.................................
Tension still prevailed in the Roman Empire with the assassination of Tiberius and the empire being taken over by Caligula. It all started with him turning insane and wanting to be pronounced as god and demanding everybody to worship him as a divine individual. He, in the 40 AD was anti-Jewish and tried to place his own statue in the enormous Jewish temple in Jerusalem. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/91678/jewish_revolts_under_the_roman_empire.html
