Two American sponsored teams: Team Columbia and Garmin Chipotle. The first stage is over. Mostly flat and some hills but no mountains yet. An uphill finish. Valverde took it with a strong finish.

Top American: Christian Vandevelde.

Top Australian: Cadel Evans (I like this guy.)

You guys need to talk Lance Armstrong out of retirement. I was a little bit interested when he was competing.

Yep, Lance was the Man. And before him, Greg Lemond. I don't see another American of that caliber right now.

We have an excellent developmental cycling program in this country. It's kinda like soccer, talented individuals but the interest doesn't compare with the big sports.

Yep, Lance was the Man. And before him, Greg Lemond. I don't see another American of that caliber right now.
