I see the bill barely passes... What the minority leader did was read major parts of the 300 page amendment.

It wasn't a real filibuster... What I heard on CSPAN was that the minority leader can use as much time to voice his opinion.

Off to the Senate now... hope it dies there.

VIDEO: House GOP Leader Boehner Filibusters Cap-And-Trade Bill (MUST SEE!)

Just as the House of Representatives was getting ready to vote on a sweeping energy bill that its backers said would reduce the nation's carbon emissions and encourage development of renewable energy, House GOP Leader John Boehner took to the floor.

Awesome video!! Good find! I like that guy's style! He made the Democrats look like ignorant asses for not reading the huge bill and the 300+ page amendment. Hope it dies next time around!

I think it should be required that all bills being voted on be read IN FULL - make them all sign off saying that they PERSONALLY read the bill in full before they vote on it.

It's called doing your job. Try such irresponsibility at your workplace. Approve a major expense increase without bothering to study the details and you'll be unemployed in 30 seconds..

PoliCon, Just the fact that conditions give you cause to say reading a bill before voting should be required says it all.

We are not represented in D.C. Even when the Republicans ruled the place, we were not represented worth a damn.

Thank god my representative (Travis Childers-D) voted against it... BTW IMO Childers should is more conservative than a lot of RINO's out there.

Evidently not as 9 Republicans voted for it including a man I used to respect in Rep. Frank Lobiando. My guess is that since Lobiando lives in a blue state, he did this to save his neck. Way to stand for your principles there jerky.

Ah but you see - the all operate under the impression that having a staffer read it is enough - or worse - are blind party loyalists who vote for what ever they are told to vote for.
