The Wall Street Journal’s editors weigh in on Al Franken’s Senate win: The ‘Absentee’ Senator. The Minnesota Supreme Court yesterday declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of last year’s disputed Senate race, and Republican incumbent Norm Coleman’s gracious concession at least spares the state any further legal combat. The unfortunate lesson is that you don’t need to win the vote on Election Day as long as your lawyers are creative enough to have enough new or disqualified ballots counted after the fact.

This is how Gore almost won in 2000. His lawyers only wanted certain Democratic heavy counties recounted. Thankfully the Supreme Court put a stop to it.

The fact that Franken got over 400 more votes in the recount than Coleman proves the counting process was manipulated. In such a close election, the votes added to both candidates should've been much, much closer, not separated by such a wide margin. It's just simple math.

Franken is disgusting... I can't imagine him as a politician... He's the faggot Stuart Smalley to me or the jackass Air America failure of a DJ that bankrupted that station. He's a tool...

The fact that he was close enough to win should tell you the stupidity of Minnesota's voters. But the reality of it is that Dean Barkley took a lot of votes away from Coleman.
