A billboard erected in New Zealand to remind motorists to change their driving to match weather conditions has a child's face that bleeds when it rains. Better yet, it ran during Easter and the Jewish holiday of Passover.

The bleeding billboard was created to promote a safe driving campaign over the Easter and Passover holiday in which there'd been a sickening amount of fatal accidents in previous years especially in rainy conditions. Advertising agency, Colenso BBDO was tasked with the creation of the billboard that, when it rains, bleeds profusely from the child's face. Somewhat disturbing? Yes. Potentially culturally insensitive? Sure, maybe to Egyptians and Christians. But we're pretty sure we'd get the message.

Weird.

Good think it's not an image of Michael Jackson. There'd be people starting a cult over it.

A perfect, uninjured face bleeding from the eyes and nose.... Creepy. The message is lost on me.

How stupid.. Looks like Britain! I'm glad America hasn't gotten that whiny and preachy yet, but I'm sure we're on the way....

I believe it was an Aussie on here that couldn't wrap her brain around the fact that the authorities will allow you to ride a motorcycle in shorts but will lie to you and tell you they care about your safety as they ticket you for riding in a steel cage without wearing a seat belt.. Indiana Jones would whip that ticket book out of their hands and tell them to man up as he sped off in his Subaru Outback into .........the Outback....!

(I know that New Zealand and Australia are two separate places, but their accents are what ties them together in my beady little brain)

And my point stands re seat belts As I said, never leave the US...because most, if not all, of the other nations including Europe, have seat belt laws.

We also have random DUI stops and patrolling cops with breath test units

Here's why.

Do as you please. Drink and drive. Don't wear a seatbelt.

Y'see, we in Aus and NZ are aware of freedom, and what it means.

We also don't think that you have the right to do as you please, if it means others die because of you.

Stay in the US for the rest of your life...because the moment you open your yap overseas about your "right not to wear a seatbelt", you'll be told by the driver (and this INCLUDES cabs) to shut up, and do as you are told, or get out and WALK.

Your choice.

Little is an apt description....miniscule is a better one.

The accents of the two nations are vastly different to anyone with more than a few brain cells to rub together.

Oh wait....
