OK, I heard something on TV today about Sotomayer having ruled at some point that the recent SC decision ending the DC gun ban is not the end of local gun control and that the 2nd A does not prevent states from passing laws.

I don't get it. I mean, if Ohio passed a law limiting free speech would not the rest of the nation sceam about rights and the 1st A? IMO this is nonsense.

SImply put, the BORs is in fact the law of the land and no government, local, state or federal is supposed to violate the rights defined there.

Am I off base or what?

The second amendment is one of the few that has never been "incorperated" via the 14th to the state.

Wow. I am reading the 14th now and getting some of the background and I still don't believe it. Still seems like most rulings imply the states don't have a right to run over the BORs.

I think that there should be one of each in every home and treated equal reverence. A copy of the BOR and a BAR!

My dad carried one for a while during the Korean War. Said that it was a sweet weapon!

Your dad put it all on the line for us. Thanks to him.

Personally, I would rather have a modern SAW. Ammo was heavy for that beast and the mag only held like 20 rounds I think.

OTOH, I'd sure like one NOW :D
