China Stops Clinic Treating Internet Addiction With Electroshock

Chinese authorities have put to a stop one clinicís extreme effort to wean youngsters away from the Internet ó a practice that highlights the skepticism surrounding Chinaís approach to Internet addiction, as well as the existence of the condition itself. The Ministry of Health ordered that the clinic in Shandong province stop using electroshock as a form of punishment(snip)the treatment hasnít been proven safe,

I don't see why this wouldn't work if it was part of adverse conditioning. Of course, the kid would then have to choose some kind of career that didn't use computers.

I'm sure the chinese government decided it was a waste of an ECT machine that could instead be used on political dissidents.
