I've been away, because of the cancer from last year and the later issues. I have had breathing problems. Part of my right lung has collapsed and it is slowly healing.

If I've been very shirty recently...now you know why. Fighting for breath is a terrifying feeling.

Fifteen minutes, and the grave dancers begin.

2. Condolences to his family.

I wonder where you go after spending so much of your last years on earth lying? May you look up from your deathbed after a long, long and tedious life, and see an empty room.May you die alone, unmourned, forgotten, unwanted. May your last breaths be looking out of a window at a world that neither knows nor cares you ever lived.

Tony Snow will be remembered for his courage.

No one will even care who you were.

23. Snow had the best of care.

Tony Snow was a wealthy man and could afford the best of health care. Imagine the prospects of the poor. Would they survive as along as Snow did? Why should we feel sympathy for the family of a man who spent his entire life supporting and defending Conservatism, a political philosophy which would deny medical care to any who can't pay for it?That is a blatant lie. You know it.I know it. So tell me Mr Hypocrite, who are you to accuse of others of lying?

30. A Special Seat at the Table

I'm sorry that anyone dies in this manner. Cancer is a terrible way to go...

Still, if there is a Hell, there's a special seat with Tony Snow's name on it.

If there is Karma, perhaps he will be reincarnated as someone who can only tell the truth no matter what kind of trouble it gets him into. No, that table is waiting for you. At this moment, the angels are shouting his name, and all the trumpets are sounded from the other side. God will welcome him into His arms as a brave and worthy son, in whom He is well pleased.

When it comes your turn, take sunblock., It is very warm where you will be going.

18. Well said

And I agree. No death is worth applauding. None."He was a man, take him for all in all..I shall not look upon his like again."

Rest well Mr Snow..your courage and strength are an inspiration to many.

DU...you are sick, perverted and evil. May you one day, I pray, learn the folly of your actions. Those who have no compassion receive none in return.

Those of you that lurk...believe me, what you have said has been noticed, and will be remembered.,

For all time.

Dismissed.

43. Pitty to his family....but F_ _ _ Tony eternally

To the Snow family, I will say I am sorry for your loss. As for Tony himself, I will say good bye and good riddance. That lying POS now can live in eternity (if you believe in such crap) thinking about the lies he spread and lives he helped to destroy. Faux, Rush and all the rest of the evil conservative establishment will spew their lies about what a great man Tony was, but anyone with 1/4 of a brain will know that he was just a puppet for the lying MF'ers in the Bush administration.Dem Dickhead, the only lie here is the one that says where you can be classified as a human being. He was ten times the man and a hundred times braver than you would ever be when faced with your mortality.

He laughed and joked and did his job until he could no longer work. Both the Press and others respected him deeply, and admired who he was and the fact that even when he knew that his last days were coming, preferred to live, until it was time to say goodbye.

Oh and Dickhead...I'd say "f... you" but even a horny camel with a blindfold wouldnt touch you with a fifty foot barge pole.

Please tell me you have no children.

50. He leaves an extraordinary legacy.

“The evil that men do lives after them, The good is oft interred with their bones.”

-William Shakespeare
Try this instead, you callous bastard.

That time of year thou mayest in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed whereon it must expire
Consum'd with that which it was nourish'd by.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

I cannot contrast the difference between the loser liberals and the conservatives any more then to point out the above posts from DUmmy land and compare them to the passing of Tim Russert and the post on this site at his passing.

54. An occasion to recall the wonderful eulogy delivered by the Rev. Vernon Johns

Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 09:00 AM by HamdenRice
Rev. Johns was pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church of Montgomery, Alabama, and was the immediate predecessor of the Rev. Martin Luther King in that post, and Rev. Johns is sometimes considered the father of the modern civil rights movement.

Rev. Johns had been prevailed upon to deliver the eulogy for a young man whose life had been less than exemplary. Andrew Young remembered the eulogy as follows:

"So and so lived a trifling and worthless life. He went around Montgomery daring someone to cut his throat. Saturday night somebody obliged him. He lived like a dog; he died like a dog. Undertaker claim the body."

That describes you...not him.

They're probably like Robert Byrd. He just went to the cross burnings because they had good BBQ chicken afterwards. He was there for the community, not all the hate.

After all, Byrd supports Obama, he can't be racist.

So

Just wondering how accolades on the death of Tony Snow are worse that someone pointing out problems with Barrack Hussein Obama. Having a hard time getting my head around that.

I hope no one on that board has to suffer thru cancer, and if they do, I do not care what party they belong to or how many times they canceled my vote, they have my sympathy.

Sympathy for his family??? How much sympathy do think they felt for all the sons and daughters that returned from Iraq in body bags? Those soldiers knew what they were signing up for and knew what the risks were. They went anyway. They were nobler and braver than you would ever be.

This man's lies helped to perpetuate this shameful, illegal war and I think it's high time those on the conservative side get to experience a little grief. I don't feel any sympathy for them because they don't give a tinker's damn for us.
It says more about you than it does h9m for this "illegal war" schtick...when even your own revered Barack MUSLIM Obama supports it

To me he always appeared awkward like he really didn't get comfortable with his position. I think the stress of having to go in front of the people lie for his bosses--make no mistake, we all do it; most of us just don't do it on TV--took it's toll on Tony.Or maybe he knew he was sick, knew he was dying, and the fact that he had the guts to still do his job says volumes for his character and his heart. Your comments here say volumes about how low and disgusting you are.

During one of my hospital stays, the guy in the next bed had colon cancer. I would not wish that on anyone.
Yet here you are dancing on his grave, and pissing on his memory

My sympathies to his friends and family.
My apologies to your parents for the perverted, hateful little toerag that you have become.

119. I found myself choking with tears when I first heard his cancer was back. And I despised Tony Snow! But that's what makes us liberals: we're supposed to be empathetic--and I thought about his wife and kids soldiering on without their dad. You knew when you saw him last year that he wasn't going to last much longer, regardless of the forced optimism.

You are confusing empathetic with pathetic.

Anyway, my point is that you don't have to like or even respect someone to feel bad about their passing--not if you think of those who care about them, not if you've ever lost anyone close to you and you know how it feels! We can show respect for the living and not add to their pain. You wouldn't want it done to you, right????

See below.

However...one caveat: if Dick Cheney were to die tomorrow, I'd probably gloat and grave-dance my ass off!! We must always rejoice when evil is removed and the citizens can come out into the light again.

Ah yes, if we all "saw the light" and voted Democratic, there'd be candy canes and butterflies and people sitting in rings singing Kum bay Yah...when Saddam Hussien was gassing the Kurds and murdering his own people, you chose to stay silent.

When Idi Amin murdered millions, all you ever did was poiint to the "evil US"

While millions die in Darfur, why arent you in the streets? Where are all the protestors? Where are all the organsations? Where is Redford? Sheehan? Code Pink? Where is your outrage over Castro's atrocities?

Where are all the activists protesting about China's human rights violations?

Iran has the worlds largest execution rate, hangs gays, stones women to death, burns people alive for the crime of "witchcraft" and has openly called for the destruction of Israel?

What do we hear from the "empathetic Democratic Underground?"

What do we hear from that pathetic MoveOn?

Silence.

"Come into the light?"....if I followed your hypocrisy, that light at the end of a long dark tunnel would be the 8:15 express.

68. Admirable of you, DU...but ...I assure you if the situations were reversed the 'right' wouldn't be giving us the same 'out of respect for the dead' behavior

Go back through all the CU archives, same for FR. I defy you to find one post that comes anywhere near the hatred we have seen today.

Frankly, there are things that we do in life that reduces, and in some instances, eliminates the degree of respect we are entitled to when we die. As far as I'm concerned everyone associated with enabling this criminally disastrous regime to do it's work has long ago lost any of my respect - in life or death.

I'll say it again,. Buy a mirror.

HuffPost Closes Comments On Snow's Death Announcement

It appears the good folks at the Huffington Post have a firm grasp on the hatefulness of their members, for the article published there on Saturday concerning the passing of Tony Snow is not accepting comments.I guess Huffington's employees anticipated disgusting remarks about the former White House press secretary, and rather than deal with them on an individual basis chose to prevent them completely. snip

This seems a good decision considering the disgraceful behavior of HuffPosters in February 2007 when a homocide bomber struck outside a military compound in Afghanistan where Vice President Dick Cheney was staying.

Michelle Malkin preserved the unpleasantness for all to see here. http://michellemalkin.com/2007/02/27/assassination-chic-cheney-edition/

With this in mind, it was highly likely things were going to get ugly there today, and quickly, which raises an interesting question: were comments closed out of respect for Tony, or to prevent the world from once again seeing just how hateful folks on the ultra-left are today?

Unreal, Snow was a great human being, I wish I was a fraction as good as he, and he will be greeted by the Lord on the Other side. My wife was the first to say "i wonder what those heathens in the DUi's are going to say" behold the splendor that is the evil democratic underground. This brilliant man who's ass they could not kiss(though he would never ask) has left his young children with an inspired legacy. I pray his lovely wife is not shown any of those diabolical blogs or threads from the subhumans that proclaim to be the hope and change party. May the Snowman be remembered as a Patriot, a true believer in American greatness, and as a man of inspiration that never quit nor asked for a hand-out. May those that condemn him never find a moments peace in life..... or death.

I'd say most of the DUmmies who keep saying Tony is in Hell are the ones who should themselves stock up on asbestos underwear, they'll definitely need it where they're going, while Tony Snow is hopefully being rewarded by God in Heaven for his humility and faith and devotion to others.

I swear, you can't get much lower than to just be a member of DU. These people disgust me. If you are still a member of a place where so many of the people are so hate filled and vile yet still choose to be a member, there is something seriously wrong with you.

BEG, you said it so well. I never look at DU, as I feel that time on earth is precious. It's not worth wasting a second of precious life to look at that vile board.

I'm watching Fox now. They are having a beautiful testimony about Tony.

He was a true gentleman. That's the ultimate compliment. He was a gentleman and a good man. They are talking about how much he truly loved his wife and family.

I just couldn't go over there today. They make me sick.

Look what Keith Overblown said:

Statement from MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann:

Tony Snow was an optimistic, funny, and courageous man who could set aside his politics and inspire others to do the same. It might surprise many at all political points, but while we could not have disagreed more on policy, we were in frequent contact, even during his days as Press Secretary, even as I was criticizing his work and he was in his own words yelling at the screen as he watched. It was with great sadness that I heard of his death today, and with sincerity I extend my condolences and my staff's to his family. In the best of us, there is a difference between the message and the messenger, and Tony Snow epitomized that.

Bush, Cheney, Snow and, hel,l every Republican in the United States:

I know I disagree with almost everything you stand for and our political ideologies are so far apart its ridiculous. I think the policies of the Bush Administration have been a colossal failure and I will celebrate the day he leaves office (even McCain is better than Bush). But, none of them deserve to die. Their policies may be misguided and disasterous but just because theyre screwed up doesnt mean they have earned the right to die miserably.

Also, its kind of funny that you guys go so crazy over this while people here openly speculate and hope for the assasination of Barack Obama.

I missed that, and certainly don't agree with it. I wonder if your statement is actually in context. Like Wellstone, not for a second did I happy about his death. I didn't feel any desire to gloat. These people are total FREAKS.

You know, for some reason I thought DU might leave Snow's death alone. I thought possibly some class might emerge. What the hell was I thinking?

Lockdown or meltdown? :D

Both, because the meltdown will initiate the lockdown. I hope the DUmp monkeys' loved ones (read: mommies) hide all the sharp objects in the house on election night. Otherwise Wednesday morning there might be a lot of blood-soaked keyboards.

153. Isn't that nice. A faithful Christian who enabled the slaughter of innocent Iraqis.

How Christian of him.

So it's his fault Al Qaeda invaded Iraq in order to kill American troops and terrorize the Iraqi populace?

As I watch some of the tributes to Tony Snow, and remember the same with Tim Russert, I'm struck by what comes across about the kind of people they were. And then I realize why the rabid politicos on DU act as they do. I think it's fairly obvious that Tony was pretty much a conservative and that Russert leaned toward liberal. But what they had in common as decent, hard working and family oriented people, shines through whatever their political beliefs were.

And the reason the ghouls over there have to denigrate them is because to them, you are defined by your politics. They don't like seeing that as the press follows their passing, it looks at them as the people they were more so than what their political philosophy was.

In the black and white world of the far left that DU represents, if your conservative, your evil. If your liberal and don't hate like they do, your a traitor. They don't want to know what a good guy Tony was, they don't like it pointed out that he was thoughful and friendly to all people, no matter how their views differed from his. They don't like the fact that although Russert may have been liberal, the news highlights his intense love of country, how he had a strong faith or the fact that he had good friends and was well liked on both sides.

One of the news stories about Snow refered to the thoughful tribute he gave Paul Wellstone after he died in the plane crash. Wellstone was obviously on the other side of the spectrum, but that didn't stop Snow from showing a magnanimous, genuinely felt sadness at the news of his death. And that most likely pisses them off even more so, because deep in side they know that don't have the strength of character to rise to that level of humanity.
