View Full Version : The Left Has Its Organic Food In A TIZZY

First, to my conservative friends who buy organic, please do not take offense to this. Why you spend $12 on a cauliflower is beyond me, but be that as it may, you are in the minority when it comes to who shops at the organic and whole food stores.

It's safe to say that most of the organic food store shoppers are cut from the same cloth as those who were partying some 40 years ago at Woodstock. In other words, liberals.

As you may know, the Whole Foods Market Inc.'s CEO John Mackey recently opined in the Wall Street Journal regarding the Obama Health Care Plan otherwise known as the present-day "Leftist Holy Grail". Mr. Mackey expressed his sincere opinion that the health care overhaul being pushed by President Obama would be bad for America and offered several suggestions to help reform health care. The op-ed was respectful and absent of any harshness whatsoever towards the President or anyone who is for socialized medicine.

Oh, but Mr. Mackey's opinion is not that of his company's target market, quite the contrary. And according to a piece by ABC news, they are up inarms.

What is so funny and ironic about this is that a significant portion of Mr. Mackey's op-ed spoke of the benefits of healthy eating in regards to overall health, which is theoretically why at least some of his company's customers shop at his stores.

Maybe it was the opening quote he used from Margaret Thatcher, "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money", that caused these socialists...pardon me liberals, such heartache.

What I find especially amusing is that the Left always describe themselves as the people of tolerance and says that those of us on the Right are mean-spirited and intolerant. This little incident shows otherwise. Here is a man who expresses his views on socialized health care, again in a very professional manner without throwing criticism towards the proponents of socialized medicine, and he is lambasted, to put it quite mildly, by his Leftist customers.

This blog commented (now erased unfortunately) on an op-ed by the Safeway CEO written many weeks ago that had as its main idea, like Mr. Mackey's piece, that preventive care through better nutrition can save an incredible amount of money now being used for health care. It's worth the read.

Most of the organic food industry is a scam. I don't care somebody has to take the money. It might as well be farmers!
