IRAN has said it will try 25 more people arrested after the disputed result of the June presidential election, as fresh claims surfaced that several protesters in jail were tortured to death. "The third session of the elements of recent riots in Tehran will be held on Sunday," a court statement carried by the ISNA news agency said.

"In this session charges against 25 defendants... will be presented."

Iran has already put on trial 110 people charged with protesting against the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The defendants include top reformists, political activists, a French lecturer and two employees of the French and the British embassies.

The trial of lecturer Clotilde Reiss (http://search.news.com.au/search//0/?us=ndmnews&sid=401&as=news&ac=ninews2&q=Clotilde%20Reiss) has finished, although she remains in custody.

Opposition leaders have denounced the court proceedings as "show trials".

The hearings have angered the international community and heightened political tensions as Iran battles its worst political crisis since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

UNITED NATIONS, Aug 11 (Reuters) - The United Nations said on Tuesday that Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has congratulated Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose contested re-election sparked violent protests across the country.

"The letter went out yesterday," said U.N. spokeswoman Marie Okabe.

Iran's June 12 election, which secured hardline President Ahmadinejad's re-election, plunged Iran into its biggest internal crisis since the 1979 Islamic revolution, exposed deepening divisions in its ruling elite and set off a wave of protests that left 26 people dead. [ID:nHAF039117]

Western leaders, already upset by Ahmadinejad's anti-Israel rhetoric, Holocaust denial and uncompromising nuclear line, refused to congratulate the president on his inauguration last week, although their counterparts in Japan and Turkey did so.

Among those leaders who withheld their congratulations to Ahmadinejad were U.S. President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Colour me surprised

And I will bet that it pains him greatly to not be among the first to give the evil elf a hug. Evil despots will sleep safe in their beds knowing that the current US Presidents lacks the will to backup people who support such evil and vile ideals such as freedom, liberty and holding government accountable.

........................The cleric said protesters were "tortured" in the Kahrizak detention centre, south of Tehran, before it was ordered closed by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"I heard they (security forces) stripped people in Kahrizak and made them crawl like animals with prison guards riding on their backs," he said in a separate claim on the website of his political party, also called Etemad Melli.........................

in otherword these seditionists were treated just like USA prisoners in Iraq at abu graib

Did you see in one of his first 20 posts, after he was bragging about getting a thrill from cops being killed, he tried to establish is "bad ass" credibility by telling us of his brief encounter with serial killer Dennis Rader (BTK)?

I think Rader probably skull fucked this shit stain and scrambled his brains a bit.

Rader was pure, unmitigated, undiluted, evil concentrate. The cold, unrepentant almost flippant way that he described his crimes bears more than adequate witness to this. I faced a shotgun wielding home invader with a pistol and won. I faced a pistol packing car jacker and all I had was a knife and I came out on top. A jealous boyfriend followed me out into the parking lot and tried to shoot me and he wound up on the wrong side of my knife. In Mexico a corrupt Federale tried to shoot me when I was unarmed and I shot him with his own gun after he had shot me.

Maybe it is instinct. Maybe it is avoiding those who can take you in a fight, but I can tell you, I would never, EVER, want to cross Denis Rader. The guy is from head to toe a predator. You can see it in his eyes. You can see it in the coiled spring about to be released posture. The guy lives to kill and our friend would have been little more than a midmorning snack.

Not even knowing who he is, and if Rader came at me, armed or not, it would definately be a pants filling moment.

The current militarised occupation force sort of local/state/fed cop is an absolute danger to the Liberty of the ordinary decent person. Everywhere you turn these days some barneyfife at the airport or on the street is demanding cowering obedience to sanction his insecure manhood. In addition they are not much use to the ordinary person confronted by non-State sanctioned free enterprise thugs. I still feel anger when reminded of the Cowardly Cops of Collumbine.

Three times in my life it has been necessary to show a thug the bidness end of a firearm to convince them to leave me, mine and those under my protection alone. Cops on the otherhand I have interacted with perhaps 10 times (not counting several successful smoozings out of traffic tickets) over those years and FRANKLY those experiences are the underpinning of my contempt.

Two of my favs

1) I once had a city cop detain me for over an hour on my own property while attempted to provoke 'disorderly conduct' because she disliked an RTL bumper sticker on my car.

2) on another occassion I dealt with what appeared at the time to be a rather wacked city animal control officer- turned out years latter to be the infamous BTK. That realisation shook me a bit
