Now their using Kennedy's funeral to tell "so called Christians" what they are supposed to do if they were "real Christians". (Note it begins and ends with 'do as we tell you'.)

The "least of my brothers" reading was the perfect gospel reading for Teddy's funeral.
I've been wanting to quote that passage in letters to all these so-called Christians who are blocking healthcare reform. I want to tell them that I am praying that god will soften their hearts so they can let in the TRUE message of Jesus. Jesus would be all about healthcare reform ... because it's about taking care of those in need.Fair enough.
Liberals:
I'll support "health care reform" when you show a passage where Jesus tells a government (any government) to provide health care (or even welfare) for it's people.
Or if you can't do that, then show where Jesus told one person to take from another in order to give to a third person.
You can't do it, and that means you are either lying or more likely are ignorant and trying to use Christianity for your own gain and/or to vilify conservative Christians. I guarantee you Jesus would have something to say about that kind of behavior. Probably something related to that heart thing he talked about.
Yes we are INDIVIDUALLY supposed to help those who are hungry, thirsty, needy. Not the government. That would mean EACH of you lefties (as well as each of us conservatives) are to open your home and wallet and give to those in need. Not to the Government to give according to how it wants to-but each individual in a generous PERSONAL manner.
Your "true Christian" pleas and "what would Jesus do" falls on deaf ears because you show you do not understand God's word and are using it ways He did not intend.
Oh, and since Jesus is the only ONE who is able to see the heart you can talk all you want but your "judgements" mean nothing.

and that reading should be a rallying cry for health care.

6. "I was hungry and you gave me food..."
And the Republicans looked on in confusion. You mean the Republican (Christians) worked at their church's food distribution center, food shelf or meals on wheels, and/or freely gave of their own money out of love. And the Democrats who think it is the Governments responsibility to care for the needy looked on in confusion or did the same out of selfish motivations.

...the Democratic party has ever needed. The rest, as Rabbi Hillel would say, is but commentary.
