President Obama's environmental adviser Van Jones resigned from his post late Saturday evening after he came under fire for a series of inflammatory statements he made about Republicans, the White House said early Sunday morning.

Jones, Obama's green jobs "czar," was caught on tape in an expletive-packed rant, directly attacking Republicans in the Senate who he said abused their majority position in the past to push legislation through. He told Politico after the statements were released that the comments were "inappropriate" and "offensive."

"They do not reflect the experience I have had since joining the administration," Jones said in the statement.

The White House kept mum about Jones Friday, telling reporters only Jones would remain as part of Obama's administration.

Hmm... He must be dodging an investigation. Usually it seems libs stay and fight to the death trying to justify their positions and pasts. And to think... We could have had another discussion about what the meaning of the word "is" is.

Van Jones Resigns--His Resignation Letter

Van Jones, the Cop-hating, Race-Baiting, Communist Truther, finally resigned. The Council of Environmental Quality (CEQ) Released his resignation letter after midnight so it would receive less attention. Of course the press hasn't been covering the story anyway. While most of the media will blame the resignation on Glen Beck, Fox News, and the Right-wing blogisphere, in the Jones was done in by his own words (and signature). He would still be in his office if he followed his own advice "I'm willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends"

This is a good day for the future of the United States.

Below is the letter Jones Sent to the CEQ

I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today.

On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.

I have been inundated with calls - from across the political spectrum - urging me to “stay and fight.”

But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.

It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead.

Was I the only one who was kind of hoping for Van Jones to stick around a while? In the long run, I think he would have hurt the Obama administration sorely. I also worry that now Obama will just appoint someone as radical, but not as vocal.

no no no no . . . Our side telling him to stay and fight is different from their side doing it - see when we say stay and fight we want to see how much damage he's willing to do before he goes! >:^}

I'm not going to call full bullshit. I'm sure the far left loony left were urging him to fight, as well as blacks and truthers who believe in him.

Not to worry. There are so many czars to keep Glenn Beck busy. :D

Either the Obama administration is the most inept at vetting or (which I believe is true), they agree with Van Jones and saw nothing wrong with his postions, until Jones was challenged on those extreme postions. No wonder the Annointed One hates Fox News.

Carol Browner? A member of Socialist International (http://www.socialistinternational.org/about.cfm), "the worldwide organization of social democratic, socialist and labor parties." Says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

Cass Sunstein? And his devotion (http://www.consumerfreedom.com/news_detail.cfm/headline/3807) to the cause of establishing legal "rights" for livestock, wildlife, and pets.

Holdren? Oh where to begin?

John O. Brennan? Headed the firm that was guilty of breaking into top government files, and a key witness was conveniently shoot that could have sent him to prison?

So many czars, so many kooks, so little time. :D

Van Jones is truly disgusting. I love how he says it's because he insulted Republicans. No, maybe it's because of his commie statements and extreme positions.

Just heard on Fox News that Howard Dean says that Jones shouldn't have resigned. What a loss to the country.

It's getting obvious that the whole "czar" thing is O's way of putting people into powerful positions who wouldn't have a prayer of surviving a normal vetting process. So, "who's next?" is a perfect question. If the "real" investigative media stays with it, I think we'll see them dropping like flies.
Like Wright and Ayers in the beginning, we're finding all of Obama's "associates" are radicals. You hang with compatible people. People you're comfortable with. It anyone is surprised by what we're getting, then damn what a dumb shit you must be.

Glenn Beck statement on resignation of Van Jones

September 6, 2009 - 18:38 ET
The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.

I agree. This is where the focus needs to be. I wonder how all the "Hope and Change" voters are feeling now? We tried to tell them but the Obamination was too strong for them.

The White House kept mum about Jones Friday, telling reporters only Jones would remain as part of Obama's administration.
He was to remain in the administration yet 2 days later he was gone. Either the "administration" (read OBlah Blah) was lying or they were being dishonest and he really is still part of the administration. Let's see how many times O Blah Blah goes to Van Jones for advice in the next couple of years. I'm sure Van Jones can text O Blah blah from under the bus.

I find it odd that the Mainstream Media really hasn't devoted much coverage either, if this was the right they would be covering this for months.
