And we've already had upsets: BYU over Oklahoma, close calls: Ohio State/Navy, and blowouts: Florida, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan vs. nobody, but it all culminated in what will probably be the game of the year last night.

Hey! The Akron players all lived through it, as I understand.

Was really hoping that Northern Iowa would embarrass Iowa at home last Saturday. Another Appalachian State over Michigan type win, but it was not to be. Iowa blocked two 40 yard field goals in the final 7 seconds. :(

You like Penn St too? They would have to run the schedule and beat them by untold margins to have a chance to get the number one spot.

Well I guess not everyone is totally worthless. :D

My parents both had graduate degrees from the university, and my father was a professor and administrator there for many years. My father has known "JoePa" since he was Rip Engle's assistant (and was buddies with Engle too). Our connection goes back pretty far. Tim Curley, the current director of athletics, used to be a goof-off in my mother's sixth-grade class. :D

Well like I said before Penn States schedule is so weak they would have to really smoke every team to get a chance at the number 1 spot.

31-7 is a good start, even if I've never heard of last week's opponents. I'm looking forward to the Syracuse game, since that's the arch-rivalry I remember from my childhood (they always tried to paint the Lion orange). I think it's just on the Big Ten Network, so I'll have to have Dad over for the game.

If Notre Dame wins every game, except USC, they'll still get love from the writers and voters. No one has an easier schedule than they do.

If Miami can get through the first 4 games 3-1, they'll start getting love. That is a brutal start to a season.

I am pissed that Penn st picks such weak teams to play, I know they could beat better teams.

With a locked in Big Ten schedule and no championship game, y'all have to schedule some meat out of conference.
