"It's a good thing he wasn't a Pedophile, he would have been put on Proabition !"

DILLON — A judge in Dillon sentenced a man convicted of breaking into several homes and stealing women's underwear to 10 years in prison.

Daniel Detonancour, 35, had pleaded guilty to two counts of felony burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft for breaking into two different homes and stealing women's undergarments, as well as stealing underwear from a Dillon department store.

Judge Loren Tucker on Tuesday did not abide by a plea agreement that called for a 20-year sentence with 14 years suspended for Detonancour. Tucker handed down a 20-year commitment to Montana State Prison and suspended 10 years of the time.

Tucker said the stiffer sentence was needed because Detonancour had taken away the sense that the victims could live without "voyeurism." The sentence came after testimony by one of the two women whose house was broken into.

She said having Detonancour steal her clothing mere inches from her while she slept was scary and degrading.
