I was curious as to the size of everyone's family. How many kids do you have and how many do you want?

I have 3 total 13 y/o step son 10 y/o step daughter and my daughter is 2, we are working on another.

But he's the center of my universe.

0 kids. I always wanted a couple, but never found a husband. I have a dog and a cat.

I have 4 neices and a nephew, whom I spoil. Especially my sister's kids, because I see them a lot. My brother's kids are easier to deal with, though.

Amen to that! For me, nothing compares to parenthood.

Interesting that so many of us are childless/childfree. I'm the only one that someone has taken to task for it, though.

Zero/Zero

I've lived & dated alot of women that have kids, but never any of my own. I don't care to have any of my own either.

I love other people's kids, as you can always send them home. :D

My current relationship is children free.

I didn't know that spelling had anything to do with reproductive decisions.

Not to mention it is also the hardest job you will ever have and all the training you'll ever get is OJT. A daughter - 18 and a son - 15.

That's true, I know we are going to have our hands full in a few years, but the trials are made up for by satisfaction of raising a healthy and happy family. I am fortunate to have a comedian and a couple of little actresses in the house. The drama keeps me on my toes and the stepson makes me laugh away any stress I am dealing with.

Kids are time-intensive and people naturally tailor their "free" time toward them more (as it should be). That's why many frequent posters drop off after the baby comes or join once the teenagers emerge from their tweener cocoons. I expect it's the same for all message boards that aren't specifically dedicated to parenting.

I had to weigh in on this thread! :D

When Mr Smith and I married 8 years ago, I brought 5 kids to the deal, and he brought 2. We already had on grandson at that time, and now have a total of 5 grandchildren.

Kids are wonderful...but grandkids are better. I've been through hell-and-high-water with my kids, as I was mostly a single mom for 7 or 8 years before meeting Mr Smith, but I have never regretted my decision to carry each child to term and raise each to the best of my abilities. They are truly my treasure on earth.

My mother had 15 siblings.. my father had 11. I only had 3 sisters. In elementary school, I figured I would be a mom.. having lots of kids. In elementary school, I went to a Mennonite school with like minded teachers/students. I wound up with only two kids...

We have four, one from my first marriage and three of our own, and that's all there will be due to medical reasons. And that is plenty. As Bill Cosby said "The reason my wife and I have five children is because we do not want six." :D

I have been married almost 30 years and we have 5 kids and 2 grand babies, and we will probably have another grand baby before long.

My oldest son is a Deputy Sheriff in the next county, one of my daughters is in the Navy and stationed in the Mediterranean, she is a linguist / interpreter. My Nephew ‘we raised’, just finished training in SD and qualified for the Navy Seals. My wife is a RN and the other 2 daughters are in the medical field.

I could have raised 6 more boys for what the 3 girls cost me to raise. And, had I invested in the Kleenex Corporation I would be a rich man now, but I had no clue. Because I have spent a small fortune on toilet paper and girls personals over the years.

Not to mention the clothes. :D
