Women were dismissed from the military for being gay at a greater rate than men last year, according to new statistics obtained by a California research group.

All the services kicked out a disproportionate number of women under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, according to Department of Defense data obtained by the Palm Center at the University of California, Santa Barbara. ...

In fiscal year 2008, the Air Force dismissed 56 women and 34 men. ...

Of those discharged under the policy, 36 percent were women, although women make up only 14 percent of troops in the Army, the...

Have you ever seen the females that enter the military. Most are,to be kind, less than attractive, some are real 'Fido's' !

The Females in the Marine corps are especially outstanding .I've seen some Navy farm girl types who were fair looking with big busts but after a while they tire of military life, hook onto some young Tech weenie, get pregnant go for a medical discharge and leave.

Some join the military just for the sex. Something that you know nothing about.

I think it's bad form to be criticizing a soldier of our armed forces for not being pretty enough, but I understand that you and Megi would likely not agree.

It has nothing to do with being pretty enough; it has everything to do with being a sexual pervert (lesbos, homos and prostitutes). All done in a flagarant manner will get your ass kicked out of the service. Your expertise in the military is severely lacking.

Megi's comment simply referred to "females who enter the military". I was responding to that.

You just get on your FemiNazi horse anytime someone mentions something negative about women. A shrink probably would not help in your reclining years.

Why are you so nasty today? You've certainly been decent enough in the past (I'm loving the BMW, thanks). Sometimes you just have to try to backhand me, though. (Notice I said "try").

Almost 8 years I've been in the AF. I've made friends with many people from many career fields. I get out and meet a lot of people. I've never seen any flagrant sexual perversion (homosexually at least).

I expect that a lot of this was just people either a. trying to get out and not being squeemish about it, or b. trying to keep their lives low profile but being found out anyways.

And Megi's comments about how ugly military women are... well I'm sure my wife appreciates it.

The 2 years I was in the Army which was many years ago, I met a female prostitute in basic training. There were very few women on base. I think you are correct that sexual perversion is a ticket to get out of the military.

It was a tongue in cheek generalization not aimed at any one branch of service or any one individual .If I offended either you or your wife I apologize but my observations are true and valid.

I'm sure there are some very pretty young woman who enter military service for patriotic reasons,I just haven't met any. Some, again not all, enter the service to find a man .Some enter to escape a domineering parental family life or an unlikely local future.

To my way of thinking most woman aren't 'cut out' for military service.

They are designed to nurture not kill and their bodies aren't endowed with the strength to suffer the rigors of life on a battlefield. The Pentagon military leadership purposely limits the type of service open to woman and for the most part will not assign a woman to dangerous front line role.

As much as the PC feminist movement decries the the military limits on female front line service imagine the outcry from the feminists the first time a bunch of young woman are killed by an IED in a Military Humvee or the first batch of dead young woman airlifted into the Military mortuary at Dover !

During the Gulf War there were several Female helicopter pilots captured by the Iraqi's who were gang raped an sodomized but when they were recovered claimed that they suffered little residual side effects from their ordeal, but I doubt that long term !

Their emotional makeups are not meant to deal with the brutality, deprivations and the slaughter that some battles require.

Some woman are able to build up their bodies into masculine proportions but that usually destroys their natural beauty and they tend to age rapidly before their time and end up enduring the rest of their life alone .

There's no equivalent stigma on women for saying they are gay. In fact, it's considered hawt. When women decide that the military life is not for them and they are not pregnant (the usual out), it's probably easier to say, "I'm gay - let me go". Women have zero trouble lying about their sexual interests.

How many of you men have heard the dramatic, "oh, baby!" only to be told later in one way or another that she was never that into you sexually? This despite the porn queen performances.

I think women are just more comfortable using the gay thing to get out of service than men are. Genuine lesbians who love the butch life and who adore the military (and I'm sure there are some) probably go to great lengths to avoid being outed.

It's peculiar that men who are repulsed by male homosexual activity are not by a lesbian couple if the other, the female one,is beautiful.
As for me I find that a woman who prefers her sex with another woman is welcome to her.

Some men being competitive by nature will sometimes,'if in their cups', attempt to dislodge the assertive female from the lesbian relationship if they are found in a neutral public place . There are usually disastrous results if the 'other' is armed or trained in the martial arts .

Because male homosexuality is disgusting while female homosexuality isn't. Relatively speaking that is. I've seen some lesbo's that make me want to vomit.

I am against gays openly serving in the military, but it's only because I understand that it will cause more problems with those who are intolerable of gays then they would cause themselves. Until America grows to be more accepting we don't need that dissension in the ranks.

I was speaking generally. Straight men are repulsed by male homosexuality, it just doesn't float their boat. Hell, I'm fully supportive of allowing homosexuals all the same liberties that heterosexuals are granted, but it doesn't mean I even want to think about their bedroom activities.

Female homosexuality is more acceptable though, even entertaining. *shrugs* Not sure why. I just go where the brain tells me. :D

I'm not asking you to discuss their bedroom activities - I'm asking for an honest assessment of why their being gay is more or less a threat to you in some way . . . .

It's not, in anyway. I've said time and time again that I fully accept homosexuals as equals, so I'm not sure where you got the assumption I found them as a threat...

well because you said:

Give that the definition of disgust is a marked aversion - and that you feel it for one type but not the other - there is something deeper there - I'm just wondering if you can see it. :)

It is weird how that works, isn't it? But I do believe that most men find women going down on women much more appealing then men on men... Am I wrong? Thats all I was referring to.

I feel the same way with regards to both - ambivalent. It's not my cup of tea. I am neither threatened by or attracted to either.

It's a fantasy men can insert themselves into, since everyone "knows" a threesome is FFM. :p
