SUNRISE, Fla. -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a government-sponsored public option for health care lives. But it may be going by a different name.

In an appearance at a Florida senior center Monday, the Democratic leader referred to the so-called public option as "the consumer option." Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, appeared by Pelosi's side and used the term "competitive option."

Both suggested a new moniker might get them past any lingering doubts among the public, consumers and competitors.

Lipstick on a pig. (and by that I mean both gov't run healthcare and pelosi)

This gets me ...


Pelosi says the term has been misrepresented and creates the impression that taxpayers will foot the bill for health care.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. OF COURSE taxpayers will foot the bill. We always do.

Call it what it is - Socialist Government Run Healthcare.

George Carlin use to do a bit about the Government believing that if you change the name you improve the condition. WWI it was shell shock, WWII it was battle fatigue and during Vietnam it became post tramatic stress disorder. They believe that if you give the condition a prettier name you improve the condition and the preception of the condition.
