Dems 219 for 39 against
Rep 1 for 176 against

WASHINGTON – In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.

A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later.

And the coward waited until the 218th vote was cast to pass it before he then voted no so he can probably say his vote didn't matter anyway.

The minute Hussein signs the bill we start paying. Basically untill 2013 we would have to double pay for health care. 2.5 percent to the empire plus what we already pay for premiums!

Not me. I dropped off the grid, am not working, have cashed out all over the place, got a good advance for a book that my publisher decided not to release. Don't even have to buy any ammo as I have thousands of rounds for most of my guns already. I do not need any of Obambi's benevolent shit and I am not going to pay for any of it, either. I'll make the news the day they try to make me.

Perhaps we should all just drop out of the work force, pay no more taxes and let the government take care of us. How they can come up with the money will be most interesting since the only ones working will be congressmen, judges and jailers.

But the taxes take effect almost immedeately.

The taxes would start in 2011 and the plan would not start untill 2013 creating a surplus of funds for that 2 year differental. If this bill was about health care, the crooked bastards would implement it at the same time they started collecting the taxes.

His was the last vote cast after the 218 votes had been attained. I cut him some slack because he comes from a predominately Democratic district. He replaced cold cash Jefferson. He is also the first Repub to win that seat and the first Vietnamese to serve in Congress.

Yes. A novel. Got a modest advance. It was supposed to come out last month but the publisher decided not to go with any new authors for a while. Too bad because I already had a sequel mostly done. Was hoping to be able to milk it like John Sanford has his Prey series. My idea though was to give each minor character a lead role in a later book.

If my book had been published, I could have lived off the grid for years. Oh well, I'll have the sequel finished just in case. Like John Sanford's Prey series. I was going to have a theme in the titles but it was going to be Time. The first novel was All the Time in the World, the sequel was, All in Good Time.
