I'm catching up on email and relaxing after a lot of yard work. I just got out of the bath and it's clear that "organic" is not necessarily a good thing. My hair was full of weird items. However, it was an honest days work.
I'm about to listen to the Jason Lewis show, drinking a 2 Degrees Below beer, and wondering why Obama didn't cut to the chase at the memorial service. I'm also thinking about Veteran's Day tomorrow.
What are you doing?

I'm listening to the rain from Hurrican/Tropical Storm/Tropical Depression Ida.
Miz Bubba is about to watch So You Think You Can Dance.
I'm drinking Earl Grey tea.
I just wrote a new doggeral version of the first lines of the Twelve Days of Christmas and workied in details about a mutated goat.

Classic lounge! I'm replying to your post, in tank top and shorts, with a mountain dew and vodka and have little sheppy smith on the tv. :D
Its a tuesday and I didn't feel like giong to the Elks for the Texas hold-m tournament.
Yard work, yechhh! I do have to get started on closing the pool. Damn nieghbors trees dumped a ton of leaves in my yard and pool! I had them cut back a few years ago but it was costly and they got pissed!
I think I'll hammer some copper nails in them this winter!

I'm listening to the mixing board tracks from our gigs last weekend. I'm drinking an iced Sumatra Blue Lintong coffee, which I roasted this morning.
I'm wearing what I wore to work, a pair of Wrangler Pro Rodeo jeans, a faded blue Henley shirt and black tennis shoes. I'm smoking a Marlboro Red 100.

I'm drinking a Wild Cherry Pepsi because I can.
I'll be turning on some TV later. Probably The Biggest Loser...especially after eating mac 'n' cheese for dinner. LOL.

I'm helping my daughter with her homework.
She's writing a paper for history class.
Topic - ISLAM.
She got to pick the topic so she figured she'd let it all fly ...
Her history book says Islam is peaceful and that it preaches about getting along with everyone.
It also says that the Muslim god is the same as the Christian God.
HA! Wait till the teacher sees her report.
She's going to educate her teacher I think :D

That's certainly problematic. No traditional Christians nor Orthodox Jews believe that. A monotheistic conception of God is not at all a theological equivalent across faiths.

Feral. This area is crawling with them. The only thing that saved me from serious injury was Kato. He took the hog on. I had to take him to get stitches. One of the local ranchers here gave me a kevlar vest for him that a lot of local hunters put on their dogs to protect them from the hogs tusks. I have been running armed since. Kato loves running with the vest. It has compartments and he gets to carry his own water and some kibble and treats. I wear a tacticle vest when I run now. It has a built in compartment for my pistol and about a dozen pockets of various sizes so I can carry a couple of liters of water, power bars, knife and such.
I run on a county road that has no fencing so you run into all sorts of critters, varmits and livestock out there.

My vest is not kevlar, it is just ballistic nylon. I really do not know what the brand is. It is just one I found on eBay. I got it because it had the built in holster. Running with a shoulder holster or a tactical thigh holster was not very comfortable.
Kato's is kevlar. He loves to wear it. He steps into it the minute I lay it on the floor. His vest closes on the back so he has to step into it, I draw it up, pair up the velcro closures then zip it up. It has two good sized comparments on either side that can be removed. When hunting you take the comparments off so a hog won't hook them.
I used to run with an iPod when I was with Yvette, but back then I ran in the city. Don't have to worry about critters sneaking up on you. Running where I do I have seen, feral hogs, boar, coyotes, bobcats, cougar. From what I have heard and I have seen the tracks there is also a bear or two out here.
Something that I do while I run out here is shoot a few rounds on the run. I can hit a target when I am running with my Blackhawk and with an old M1911 that my grandfather bought in 1922. I can't shit shit running with any other pistol I own.

Damn, if I didn't have to travel so much for work, I'd have a dog in a heartbeat. We can get EU pet passports, but it's still a major hassle, finding hotels that'll take them and so on, although to be fair, Europeans are better at this than we Brits are.

Nice. He looks a lot like our dog Clifford. We took him in as a lost dog. Actually, he was trapped on a steep embankment about halfway up/down and could go no farther.
The fire department had to rescue him.
Same color and shape head. We have no idea the breed because he was full grown when we got him. He is a very smart good dog, though.

Shit Speedy, I might have to come see you next year, around March or April and do some feral hog hunting.
A friend of mine's brother-in-law has a ranch off of the caprock and he told us to go kill as many as we wanted. I have never been but heard it's a load of fun.
They follow the "draws" up from the caprock and are invading around here. Some are within 15 miles of my house now.
From here, it would be about a six or seven hour drive to Speedy's house...
edit to add; Nice looking dog.

It is really fun when you take good dogs along. The hunting skills of a Catahoula Leopard Dog are instinctive. He took to it the first time I went hunting with some buds and their dogs. The mesquite, scrub oak and cedar is so thick around here where we hunt that rifles are useless. Shotguns and pistols are really best. One guy has a crazy wife that out-balls all of us and uses a bow. She had a boar charge out of thicket at her just feet away. She nailed it with an arrow and hurdled over it. It ran under her and keeled over dead a few steps later.
Another really fun thing to hunt around here is prairie dogs. Good way to sharpen your long range skills shooting those things. You can shoot hundreds a day and never put a dent in their population. Coyotes don't mind. When you are done shooting and leave, coyotes will come and gorge themselves on the carcasses.
