Democrats Love Expensive Gas; It Restricts Driving . . . and Freedom

So we have one party hell-bent almost beyond comprehension to forcibly re-make American society in their Marxist image, and the other that is at best cowardly and impotent and at worst an unindicted co-conspirator in the effort.

What does this mean? It means that the former is most likely going to eventually get its way. It may take time, its advances may be gradual and incremental – all the better to go unnoticed by the ignorant masses until it's too late – but when there is effectively no resistance, it's just a matter of time.

Gasoline is at over $4 a gallon in late summer of an election year.
Once upon a time, incumbent congressmen and senators would have reacted to this about as well as Dracula to sunlight and crucifixes.
And they would have rushed to get prices lower by the first Tuesday in November, so as to best protect their precious re-elections. But not this year.
Democrats have stopped all attempts to increase domestic drilling with the ruthless efficiency of The Terminator.

On its face, this would seem to be an insane and suicidal move.

Just trying to get an idea what you mean by "Marxist" as it gets thrown around with a lot of gusto around here.

The premise of the article is laughable to begin with, however. How is it that when someone wants to say that market insecurities from the war are the major culprit in rising oil prices, they are branded as oversimplifying petroleum economics (a statement I fully agree with), yet, if they want to say high gas prices are the dem's fault because they are tyrannical at their core (??), that passes without a hint of skepticism?

Does the original article, in your opinion, count as a thoughtful analysis of world politics or does it just make you feel like your not alone in your club?

..: the political, economic, and social principles and policies advocated by Marx; especially : a theory and practice of socialism including the labor theory of value, dialectical materialism, the class struggle, and dictatorship of the proletariat until the establishment of a classless society

Its a good working description of the West Coast San Francisco political agenda !

When the Dems came into power in 2006, gasoline was $2.10 a gallon.............what is it now?
When the Dems came into power in 2006, Nancy and Harry promised relief for the American people on the price of gasoline...........what has happened now?............no nuclear, no drilling and no economy.

The problem is as simple as history.....while Rome burns, Nero fiddles..........The Dems are so blinded by their lust for absolute power, they are ready willing and able to throw the US people under the bus.

Have you ever been to the San Francisco Bay Area? Most of the "liberal marxists" that live there are professionals employed in multinational banks, biotech industry, multi-national corporations, venture capital firms, and the tech industry. That doesn't sound Marxist to me.

We have been undergoing a political realignment where the Democratic Party and "liberals" are no longer the party of the poor and working class, but liberals who place more emphasis on social issues and foreign policy and less emphasis on economic and class warfare.

Just because you heard from some right-wing talk radio clown somehwere toss the terms "marxism" and "socialism" around to describe the oppostion party, doesn't make it true.
