Pretty brilliant piece of propaganda. Actually his idea is very rational..at least the idea of private citizens protecting themselves on airlines. It's just that because he's a stupid boob, it's passed off as a ridiculous idea.

Actually, it's not very rational because it assumes that all mankind is divided into "good guys" and "bad guys," whereas in reality it's mostly "grey guys." Therefore, giving a large group of individuals firearms, without knowing their motivations, their needs, their aspirations, in a fairly close space, is a bit silly. I've been on a lot of planes and I've often been particularly grateful that certain classes of passengers were not armed.

Why...we do this all the time. There are plenty of fools that work in government offices with badges that meet this description. I used to work with some of them. Let's say I trust individual private citizens over wards of the state.

But in this scenario, I'm much more for allowing private airlines to train their employees to be the bearers of arms protecting their customers (which is their responsibility anyway).

In other words: I'm not suggesting to do things the Archie way, by "giving" passengers the guns.
