Albert Pujols just got the Most Valuable Player award for the third time. He's one of 10 in the history of baseball who have achived this distinction. The only person with more is Barry Bonds with 7.

And the voting was unanimous!! Albert is a good player and an even better human. He and his wife just helped fund a program with a local hospital to provide assistance to those with downs syndrome over 18 years old. It's at that age that support programs are discontinued. They have a daughter with it and help quite a bit in this community.

Yes but he's a hypocritical cry baby. In '06 he complained that Ryan Howard won the award even though the Phillies didn't make it to the playoffs however he was perfectly content in winning the award last season even though the Cardinals didn't make the playoffs(and the Phils won the World Series).

Good point, but when there are such severe negatives with many athletes, that's not high on my list of comments about an athlete. He's a greyt player and a decent human.

Maybe he was complaining because he had such a better year than Howard. He lost a few MVPs to Bonds who may or may not have been using steroids and did not take his club to the play offs. Then to lose to a guy he outplayed must have rankled.
