I have it under control. I might make the stuffing tonight and iron the tablecloth but I don't really need to do a lot tonight.

I'm enjoying the pre-festive calm. What are you doing?

I do that normally. I've already power-washed the interior of the house with acid. :p

I got off easy! The family is making the big stuff, I just have to sautee 9 lbs of mushrooms for a side dish!
I hate batches though, they have to be done in stinking batches! :D

Ever had it happen where you were just sure you got everything and then at the last minute you remember something you forgot?

Doc says that he's fine - thanks for asking. The Shelties aren't speaking to you since you're a stranger.

Let's get back to any last minute T-Day prep. Or prep-avoidance. Whatever fits. :D

I am resting comfortably before the big eat. I will be resting comfortably after the big eat.

I bring nothing to the table but my will.

You're an Objectivist, aren't you? :pI have to do two Christmases so I take the lack of responsibility I have on Thanksgiving VERY seriously.

I will not be gloating in a month.

There could be a dried buger from last year under there!

Mom and Dad are here. Mom is in the kitchen doing the stuffing and the pies. I'm just hanging out. Mom put me in charge of the mashed potatoes tomorrow. Life is good. :D

SLW bought some "fancy" designer taters at Costco...some of them are purple.:D
But they are pretty tiny.

The leaf for the table is installed, the silver is out, the extra chairs are deployed, and the stuffing made. Some "extras" are coming I just found out (as always). :D

All is under control here. I made the pumpkin cheesecake of a lifetime last night (recipe is from the Neelys, on foodnetwork.com), and I'm making apple pie and side dishes this morning. Dinner is with the neighbors across the street, so she's doing the bird and stuffing, as well as the "tablescape".

Yes, yes it does. You don't think I take more than a bite, do you? And then I won't eat for the remainder of the week to counter that bite. I haven't eaten for two days in preparation of that bite.:D

When I first woke up it was 28 outsdie, the mountain is cold! Luckily it will be 70 outside today.

I'm doing nothing, watching football at 10 AM in this timezone is strange to me.

I'm going out to visit a friend of mine that is wheel chair bound, I will have dinner there. Is McDonald's open?
