Imagine that...they think it's going to be more active... (http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20091209/BREAKING/912099988/2416/NEWS?Title=Forecasters-predict-11-to-16-storms-next-year)

I'm personally going for 0 to 100 storms for 2010. :D

Forecasters with the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University predict that the 2010 hurricane season will be nothing like the quiet season of 2009.

and didn't they claim after 2005 that storms would only get worse and more numerous? And wasn't 2006 just about the calmest year on record?

I do believe they've overestimated the number of storms every year since Katrina.

Ummm... yes? First Core Value of the Air Force is Integrity First. My job is to protect lives and equipment, but also make sure that missions can be accomplished. I'm required to provide any and all information that leadership may need to accomplish the mission. Hiding anything could cost lives, and billions of dollars in equipment.

I guess what I was trying to say is do you have to subscribe to global warming or does it not apply to anything you do?

Well, if you're referring to the AGW theory, no it doesn't. None of the positions I've held so far in my career has had anything to do with climatology in it's research regards. If I get stationed at the AF Combat Climatology Center on day, I may get more hands on experience.

But I do not believe in the theory. Nor do any of the other forecasters in the Air Force that I know. It's actually something we joke about quite frequently.

I was just curious.I didn't think you bought into any of it.
