It remains seasonal out here but we're in for a change in the next day or two. We had a spectacular sunrise this morning.

TOTD: Without looking, do you know what's in your wallet? What's the oddest thing in your wallet? What's the oldest? What's the most useless?

N.B. - Sure, it's a lame TOTD but I was busy this morning. :p

I know what's in mine and I know it needs cleaning out because I tend to throw change in with the bills. The most useless thing is definitely expired insurance cards. It drove my husband crazy that I never remembered to put the new insurance cards in my wallet, so he took to putting the new ones in, himself. Now there are a few years' worth all piled up together since I never bother to take them out.

By change, you mean $20 bills, right? ;)

I never dump change in with bills (and all the bills are in denomination order and right-side up). I do have to unload the change every week or so, though, because I can't stand to carry around a bunch of pennies.

No, that heavy stuff, the coins. I dump them into a bowl at the end of every week, and eventually get real money for them when I have enough to make conversion worthwhile.

Yeah, I know what's in there...

Drivers license
Concealed Carry Permit
Debit Card
3 Credit cards
Somewhere between 40 and 60 dollars
A whole bunch of ATM receipts that I occasionally need to throw out when the wallet won't close anymore.

TOTD: Cigar labels. I collect them from cigars I like so I remember what to get the next time I want to buy one. Except I never remember to.

Today's high 64.

TOTD: Cash, 1 debit card, 1 credit/debit card, casino cards, passwords for work, social security card, ID, HOA ID in case the guard at the gate does not know me, Health Plan of NV insurance card, and a misc. "cheat sheet" that I use at work with a couple of seldom used override codes for insurance billing.

I thin out the wallet often.

:D

I actually started doing that for the most part as well. Learned it from the former Mrs. Wiggum. I don't consider it OCD, it just helps me keep track of what I have.

TOTD: I don't carry a wallet. I've used a money clip for nearly 10 years.

A sunny coolish 54 degrees in Cajun country.

TOTD: Time to go to the bank as I only have 60 bucks in my wallet. Usually carry a couple hundred. I have a bunch of cards with telephone #s on the front, back and sideways. Two credit cards, car insurance, DL and that's it.

I usually carry a couple hundred at all times as well, which usually baffles women. My feeling is that you never know when a card game or a big day of gambling on the golf course might occur.

I wish I had all the money I won playing golf. If I could not dazzle a women with my personality, I was not going to try and do it with my wad.:)

Don't get me wrong, lacarnut. I don't carry the cash to impress women, it's "just in case". My ex-wife thought it was stupid & foolish, girlfriends since just think it is weird since there's an ATM every few feet anymore.

I was just kidding you. In my drinking days, I used to run into this guy at a nightclub that would try to impress women. He would flash his roll with a rubber band tied around the many $100 bills on the outside. His success ratio was pretty low.

Thanks, Ginger, now I don't feel quite so obsessive. I merely keep the bills in demonination order, never bother about the right-side up thing. :D

No offense taken. I've run into a number of "dudes" over the years who flash their cash ostensibly to impress women and the people they're with in general. Failure to impress anyone was generally the result.

You should really spray the cash with sanitizer too. you don't know where they have been. just sayin

Yeah, but spritz a little sanitizer on 'em and they'd be fine.

I once read about a very genteel hotel in the South. As a courtesy, the hotel would launder bills and coins. They would then iron the bills, buff the coins, and return them every morning to any ladies who had requested the service. This little amenity kept the ladies' white gloves pristine.

I thought this was a fantastic idea. :D

Sounds like the Monteleone Hotel in the French Quarter that was founded in 1886.
