SLW had her retirement party today at the place she works at and it was very nice.

We ended up taking home a huge tray of ribs, taters, and veggies. I just got done putting the extra ribs in freezer bags and we have 3 1 gallon bags filled to the brim with some damn good ribs!

And we're having them for dinner in just a little bit. :D

Congrats on the retirement my dear. :)

Retirement: what a great x-mas present. From experience, I know what a life changing experience for the betterment that can be.

Don't tell she did not get plenty of presents. Fess up.

It was very nice. I had some of my federal US Court customers there, as well as my buddy from the police department. Of course SR was there, as well as my sis and bil, niece and her little girl from China that she and her hubby adopted in August. My one son surprised me and came late. He had been in Chicago for a training session. My other son had already had an appointment with one of his major clients in Memphis, so was there in spirit, sent me a lovely email this morning.

I couldn't take sales anymore. I've been at it 30 years. It's a real grind, but today was a positive. I just hate the sound of "retired". One of my clients said he couldn't believe I was "retiring". I said to think of it as the warm and cuddly way of saying I quit. :D Besides, I got a lovely catered lunch for about 100, big bouquets of flowers, little gifties from some of my customers that I definitely didn't expect and a nice Visa gift card from the company. And my sis gave me a Spode Christmas tree cookie jar that looks like an ornament. Guess I'll have the time to bake now.

Really not leaving til Dec 31st, but they wanted to have the party before everyone took off for the holidays. So I have time to clean up the final details with my accounts. I've already cleaned up my office area.
