A neighbour thought he was seeing things when he peered out the window. But after closer inspection he realised it was not an illusion – the cow was 1.8m (6ft) off the ground.

William de Cothi, 17, took a photograph of the agile animal – in case nobody believed him.

‘I was looking out of my window when I saw the cow,’ said the sixth-form student.

‘At first I thought that the cow was in the background and not really on the roof.

‘But after a closer look I could see it was on the roof. I got my family to come and look later and they laughed. It was amazing.’

The cow eventually made its way down but the homeowner in Blagdon, Somerset, called police after finding her roof seriously damaged....

you would be surprised what cows can do but it usually takes a good stampede to get them to do it. going to be expensive getting it down. prolly just shoot it and fill up the freezer.

That critter doesn't look to be injured .They should be able to jury rig an 'a' frame with a 'belly strap' and lower it to the ground .Any old oil well ''Boom_Towner' could rig one up !

yeah but its the UK and yuou need a crane to let it down. not to mention that the cow itself may be disinclined to cooperate.

The cow got down by itself. The owner of the house reported the damage as an attempted burglary and the photo turned up in the house to house enquiries.

Cows are pretty agile when scared. It wouldn't surprise me they could leap buildings in a single bound.

The cow was later asked how she got up there and couldn't remember anything. Then they discovered why........she had been drinking Milk of Amnesia.

People who don't own livestock seem to believe that they conform PBS stereotypes. Nothing could be further from the truth.

They go crazy, eat non-edible stuff, try to have sex with....anything really, and just do absurd things. Often.
