French screen icon Bardot fined for anti-Muslim remarks

France's 1960s screen icon Brigitte Bardot received a 15,000-euro (23,000 dollar) fine on Tuesday for inciting hatred against Muslims.

In December 2006, the film star-turned-animal rights activist wrote a letter to France's then interior minister, current President Nicolas Sarkozy, arguing that Muslims should stun animals before slaughtering them during the Aid al-Kabir holiday. She outraged anti-racist groups by saying: "I've had enough of being led by the nose by this whole population which is destroying us, (and) destroying our country by imposing their ways."

Yet muslims can say whatever the hell they want about Westerners. Comintern has done its job too well. The self-hate they have fostered in the West is not leading to a socialist paradise, but a Caliphate.

All Crimes in America are hate crimes if committed by a certain classes of people ala Hate crimes expert Ted Kennedy. All are protected from hate speech except those vile white Anglo-Saxon males of any degree !

French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of "inciting racial hatred" over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.

Just a few thoughts: from the EU .

Since when is a religion the same as a race?I wonder if any muslims have been prosecuted for the same offense (I suspect not).I guess the french don't believe in freedom of speech.

Just a matter of time before we become exactly like france when it comes to muslims religious concerns in our country.

You know in Northern Ireland it is common to get a kneecapping over comments against religion or the IRA. It makes people keep there mouth shut when they deserve to speak out against any idealism they don't believe in.

I totally agree with her. When I used to live in the Netherlands, I lived in this crappy area of town (I was a student you know low rent and stuff) My Moroccon asshole neighbours used to slaughter their sheep on the friggin balcony, blood drippin and everything. Next morning the bloody sheeps head and stuff was wrapped in a garbage bag on the curb...flies everywhere.

Something to add to that:Since when is Islam a religion? To me,it seems like it is nothing more than a cult.Live like we say or we will kill you.

That's scary, that she can be fined for making a statement of that nature. But the European Union probably doesn't have anything like a Bill of Rights or the First Amendment to protect free speech, or religion, the latter being why at least one of my ancestors (Richard Warren in 1620) came here.

The French have been claiming they have free speech and patting themselves on the back about it for 150 years but they don't actually know what it looks like and they certainly would be horrified to experience it. Ditto for the Canucks. Look at that whole Steyn mess.

This is no more than the chickens coming home to roost. They may be the great-grand-children of the folks that the French military ran over in Africa many decades ago, but their the same sort of barnyard fowl that the Foreign Legion used to use as target practice in their far flung colonies. I think the visually frightening old female is right on and shows a great deal of guts.

The basic problem with France is that they killed or drove off anyone with brains or breeding during the revolution and most of the remaining specimens with half a sack were killed during WWI.

What was left were the gutter sweepings of a once great nation that let the Nazi's over run them in two weeks and then swirled further down the toilet into socialism in the after war years.

Of course after they were liberated by other countries every jackass who overcharged a Wehrmacht Soldaten for a glass of Pernod was roundly hailed as a hero of the underground.

Somewhere in Valhalla's halls William the Conqueror weeps.

"Visually frightening old female"? Have a little respect, junior. We all age, and in her prime she was way ahead of the likes of you - and most of the earth's population, for that matter.

See the movie, "And God Created Woman", and you'll see what His original plan was, and how much most people have deviated from His original design specifications. ;)

She's lucky that they didn't murder her. Theo Van Gogh and Pim Fortuin didn't get off as easily.

They surrendered; what else can we expect from the french?

They don't know, they've never done it before! :D

If she would have wrote out her message on peice of paper, hung it from a crucifix and placed it in a jar of urine they would have called it art and displayed her message in the museum.

As long as she didn't draw a funny picture of Mohammed. Then they'd have really gone after her.
