Rasmussen: More, (46 percent) 'Strongly Disapprove' of Obama Than Approve

Today's Rasmussen presidential approval poll has a pretty stunning result -- 46 percent of respondents "strongly disapprove" of the president.

But what's really surprising is that this "strong disapproval" result is a subset of total disapproval which is at 56 percent.

And the 46 percent who "strongly disapprove" outstrips the total approval number for the president, which is only at 44 percent.

Rasmussen's poll may look like an outlier compared to some other presidential approval polls but note that Rasmussen is one of a very few number of polls that poll "likely voters" rather than the generic polls of "adults." Typically, that leads to a much more accurate result when gauging electoral consequences.

I like Real clear politics to watch trends, but the actual numbers are skewed by the sheer number of polls that oversample Democrats.
