View Full Version : Christmas Day 2009 - Sydney

12-25-2009, 02:17 AM
Just got back from our Christmas lunch at my wife's mother's place.

I can't stand up, and the car screamed when I got back in.

Split pea soup with hot, fresh baked garlic bread (entree)
Turkey, ham, roast potato, roast carrots, pumpkin and bread (main course)
Trifle and ice cream (dessert)
Coffee and chocolates(afterward)

My wife is Scottish , and the Scots know how to lay a table..and all about family.

The gifts dont matter to me...what matters is that the day was one of harmony and laughter. My nephew asked me about my early days in nursing, so I regaled him with some of the more antic things we students got up to..like the day I tried this new "stronger" brand of ouzo..and tried to go to sleep in a garbage can...or the day when I woke up an hour late for work and in getting dressed, broke BOTH shoelaces on both shoes....then grabbed my other shoes and realised they had...ahem..on them....:)

(and yes, my other half just HAD to come up with a few incidents she had promised not to talk about...GRRRR  )

To family, to Christmas, in celebration of the birth of the Prince of Peace...my love to all of you (yes, even you stsinner :D)

God bless you all.

Merry Christmas. It sounds like a wondrous feast and an even more lovely time with family. That's what it's all about. :)
