This is sad for the Gator Nation, but good for Urban Meyer and his family. My the Lord be with him as he deals with his illness.

I thought Tebow was capable of curing him?

He isn't so bone headed to keep doing what could kill him. He's compassionate enough to think of family first. I might favor Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl, but Meyer will have my respect.

Heard the name for the very first time this morning. What's his health problem?

Heard the name for the very first time this morning. What's his health problem?

Heart, chest pains and a brain cyst all aggravated by job stress.

I wish him well. I'm a Bulldog fan but also love the Gators when the two teams aren't head to head.

I'm glad he is making a decision for the good of his health and family and hope all goes well.

Now the AP is saying he changed his mind and isn't going to quit but will take an indefinite leave of absence.

I wonder if he ever coached Brett Favre?

What's with the "Urban"? Does he have a sibling named "Rural"?

He's Catholic, named after a pope. Notre Dame made a big deal out of that when they wanted to hire him.

I know there were popes named Urban. Apparently his mama wanted some other career for him than the one he went for. :p

Not a sibling exactly, but his assistant coaches are all Sub-Urban.

HE"S NOT STEPPING DOWN.

Oh, what a wonderful man, thinking of his family first and all that crap. How do y'all feel about him now?

Personally, I still think he's finished. This whole "Leave of Absence" deal is nothing more than an orchestrated ploy to save the recruiting class. How many recruits will decommit if they don't get to play for Urban Liar? He'll probably announce his retirement in February, right after signing day.
