Thanks for posting this. They're inspirational. We all thank them for their service and for their inspiration to everyone in overcoming what others would call a handicap.

I know personally how tough it can be. I had been in a car accident and subsequently had knee surgery. It was pretty major surgery, but nothing like they've experienced. I guess my doc wasn't that good; he messed up and it took me over 6 months of physical therapy to make ONE rotation on the bike. Folks who had seen me struggle stood up and cheered.

My ultimate respect and thankfulness goes to those brave men. God bless them.

May God Bless you SLW. I didn't know about your injury.

Cycling is an excellent low impact cardiovascualr workout. And bicycles are beautiful. I hope you ride today!! I hope you are doing well.

Going to make an appointment tomorrow for a different orthopedic surgeon. I was working out on a Pilates reformer machine about a month ago. The personal trainer pushed me a bit too far. I could hardly walk for over 2 weeks. I'm terrified I messed up the other leg.

I need to find out if I can start using my recumbent bike I have downstairs. The physical therapist who owns the place where I've been working out has me doing only upper body exercises and the adductor/abductor machine. I'm so disgusted that all my progess has been reversed.

Please be encouraged. I've not had that kind of injury, so I can't exactly comiserate with you, but I have had injuries that caused me to be very challenged.

Be patient, but be determined. I have a bad back and a bad hip. Walking/jogging/cycling is a challenge. But, I do all three. Systematically. Carefully. And with determination.

You can do it. Let me hear about it. Maybe we can ride bikes together one day.
You hang in there, You.
