Well, your ancestors did just that up until 125 years ago or so. Of course, they also grew grapes for fine wines during the Roman Conquest and again during the Norman Conquest. ;)

That would definitely be a "look Daddy, the emperor has no clothes on" moment ... although judging by recent UK media, it looks like more than half of the UK population are coming to the same conclusion.


Well, your ancestors did just that up until 125 years ago or so. I think it was quite a bit further back than that ... more like the middle ages, but I might be wrong.

That said, the current crop of South English eight & nine year old children are experiencing winters that I have not seen since I was their age, 40 some years ago. I'm actually happy for them ... I used to pray for snow at that age.
